This restaurant didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me from the decor, menu and service. We will call it eclectic style. The decor is early 2000’s vibe with nothing really matching. Bright blue walls, just the same circle mirrors repeated along the wall with mostly rectangular furniture. The wood elements were all different stains from the flooring to the wood on the bar and furniture. Amateur paintings that didn’t match anything going on, just Scribble paintings. There is a line of tiny circulator tables in the middle of the restaurant is cramped for space, I wouldn’t suggest ordering multiple appetizers to share or any side dish. There would be absolutely zero room on these small tables. The young helper was wearing a short denim skirt and sweater, I would say a bit too casual for any restaurant, another waiter was wearing blue jeans and a more dressy shirt and then last waiter was wearing dress pants and a dress shirt. Even McDonalds staff wear nicer pants to their establishment. Maybe there should be some sort of uniform or more guidelines were everyone dressed more professionally. Seemed like all the guests were over dressed compared to the staff that worked there. We ordered the pasta which was bland in flavour. Pasta noodles with shrimp. It was in a ton of olive oil. Olive oil being a natural laxative, which the majority of restaurant staff would acknowledge, this wasn’t the best idea for a dish. The dessert was great we had the Crème brûlée that came with a cookie, I don’t know how those two things go together but I enjoyed it with my tea. The effort was missing the mark on the success of this night, by the lack of restaurant experience that is held. No knowledge of basic steps of service. The order of service and lack of service etiquette. They have a young helper who didn’t know seat numbers, auctioning off food at tables. I received my tea in two parts. I had received my milk, a large coffee mug, and sugar then had to wait for my tea pot to arrive. Didn’t come together. I had inappropriate cutlery for tea and dessert items. Everything seemed to be done at the cheapest price point of the quality of the food. Was even charged for a piece of bread to go with our pasta. They had a musician who played some basic guitar over other music on a boombox on one of the tables. It was hard to tell what parts he was even playing and what was on the recording. Sounded like elevator music. We would have appreciated hearing something a little more authentic and showing off a musicians talent over hearing a recording with seeing someone holding a guitar. I am sure there are some other local artists that would be better suited. Overall it really missed the mark for every box. We left feeling sick from the food afterwards. Definitely would not recommend or return back. I was really excited about this restaurant and it was a...
Read moreWe had the absolute pleasure of booking Tutt Co. in St. Marys for our wedding rehearsal dinner, and the experience was nothing short of perfect! From the moment our guests arrived, they were greeted with locally crafted beers and wines, setting a warm and inviting tone for the evening. The music, the beautifully arranged table setup, and the perfectly sized space created a relaxed and intimate atmosphere for our friends and family to mingle before dinner.
The dinner itself was exceptional—our guests raved about the Roast Strip Loin and the Roasted Half Chicken, and the Chocolate Peanut Pavé dessert was a decadent finale to a fantastic meal. The service staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, and the hospitality we received was truly outstanding.
I would highly recommend talking to Andrew if you're planning a wedding rehearsal dinner, a work holiday party, a milestone birthday, or any special celebration. Tutt Co. delivers a top-notch experience with incredible attention to detail.
We also love visiting Tutt Co. regularly for casual pints or special date nights. The live music on Saturday nights, the "five for $" small plates, and the international feature nights are always amazing. St. Marys is lucky to have such a culinary gem, where all the ingredients are locally sourced and thoughtfully prepared. It’s fine dining in a wonderfully casual and...
Read moreMy initial review was given as stars because my experience with Tuttco was as an observer....not as a patron. I felt it would be wrong to comment on the dining experience without actually dining there. That given....let's get into it. It was my T and me anniversary (say it again a few times. Sounds very Dr. Suess). Sam was our server. Very knowledgeable of everything they have to offer as well any allergines or other concerns. T doesn't drink and I am diabetic. Sam patiently walked us through all the options until we settled on a great tasting elderberry drink. I ordered the brisket and T got the pasta. One might assume that given the prices on the menu and the meals are made from "scratch" (imagine going to see your Mom and she asks you if you're hungry. She "could" make you a sandwich but instead pulls out the pots and pans and makes you brisket and pasta for your significant other) that the portions might be small. Oh contrere mon frere. Very filling and tasty as (explitive dileted) LOL. The kitchen staff Chef (Andrew Tutt), Loghan, and Mason are an awesome trinity of teamwork and taste. Honestly. If you care about your body. If you have an ongoing relationship with your tastebuds. If you are trying to impress family, friends....a colleague or a significant other....Tuttco is the place to do it. You will NOT be disappointed imho. Cheers to the Tuttco staff for a...
