MIKS Food Studio — Restaurant in Osoyoos

I looooooooooove this place! My partner and I were driving from Grand Forks to Vancouver, on the Sunday of the Canada Day long weekend. So, most places were closed or serving fast junk. When I saw this place was open and that they serve real and healthy food, my heart (stomach) sang. We ordered wraps so we could eat while driving. Pricing is most affordable! I ordered the Lula Wrap and even though it was still breakfast time they made the Lula for me fresh! And holy-cow was it worth the wait. BEST wrap I have EVER had. EVER. And I think that says something considering the variety of food available where I live. I've read the other reviews and I have confidence that they would only deny someone a menu item if it was sold out, and if it's sold out then it must be REALLY GOOD. One suggestion, let me know if the food will take longer than normal. I don't think I was told this until the food was handed to me, but I also could have forgotten. I really don't care though because it was so good. My partner had the classic wrap and was very happy with it. I want to come back to this place any time I come through Osoyoos. Also, they have a large selection of beverages, some regular coffee, and a very clean washroom (a must!).

The music was a touch loud in the lobby, but no one was there because it was so early so I had a little dance party for my self while staff were in the kitchen. They probably thought I was really weird. :P I imagine the music was loud so the kitchen staff could hear it.

Passing through town on a road trip and needed a quick dinner. Online reviews were good for this place but we were very disappointed. The menu diversity is very limited, and not eating gluten eliminated the sandwich option. We were told the baked potatoes take one HOUR?! So thats obviously out. We went for one salad and one platter, both with chicken & beef. These were essentially the same things just over rice vs. over lettuce. Everything looked and tasted like day old leftovers reheated in a microwave. Both dishes were served in plastic togo boxes despite dining in. My platter had several short black hairs mixed in with the rice and vegetables which i didn't find until near the end. We came here for dinner one night. There was a steady flow of customers, mostly ordering take out, so that's a good sign that food was good here.

We got the Chicken Shawarma Plate and the Beef Shawarma Plate. Both proteins were excellent and not dry. I can say that I liked both equally and would choose one over the other, depending on the day. The meats were cooked well and packed with flavor.

The fries were wedges that were fried perfectly. The rice was flavorful, and adding the homemade tzatziki sauce to everything just made the meal that much better. The salad was as expected, but certainly not a bullet point for me.
