The Most Amazing Wedding celebration

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible experience we had at Ale. From our first meeting with Ben O’Neil our coordinator and the beginning of the planning process to the moment we arrived on our wedding day, it was clear that we were in the hands of true professionals. Ben was absolutely phenomenal, going above and beyond to ensure that everything was seamless and perfect.

The ambiance and decor were tastefully executed, capturing the essence of our vision flawlessly. It was truly magical to see my ideas come to life, and it was all thanks to Ben's dedication and expertise. Every detail was meticulously planned, and not a single aspect was overlooked.

The food was absolutely delicious, and I can’t tell you how many of our guests raved about it! Each dish was a culinary delight, and it truly elevated our celebration. It was clear that a lot of thought and care went into the menu, and it made our special day even more memorable.

As this was a winter wedding, we had some beautiful photos taken outside in the snow. Ben was right there with us, following us around with our photographer and offering me his jacket each time we moved to a different area of the property, ensuring I stayed warm. His thoughtfulness made all the difference and allowed us to enjoy every moment without worrying about the chill.

What truly blew me away was the personal touch he added to our special day. When I needed last-minute alterations to my dress, he stepped in and handled it with such skill and care. It was nothing short of amazing to witness how he made sure everything was just right, allowing us to enjoy our day without a worry.

Our guests were so impressed and commented how well everything was executed and flowed so nicely. I had someone say the entire experience just had the perfect balance, and that can only be explained by the expertise and professionalism of Ben.

I wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a stunning setting and an extraordinary coordinator who will make your wedding dreams come true as well as excellent serving staff who were absolutely amazing and so helpful. Thank you for creating memories that we will cherish for a lifetime!

I don't normally write a review online unless it is a good one. As l had a bad experience at ALE I contacted the restaurant to advise them, so they could address the problem and avoid similar experiences for other customers.

This happened last Sunday 1:00pm. Totally unexpected as meals there to date have been wonderful and I was looking forward to brunch with my first time guest, although i had never been that late for brunch. The website said it was served until 3 so I thought 1:00: was reasonable. However, our server advised us that brunch ended at 2 and admitted other customers had been confused by that and she would tell her supervisor.. No complaints about the service, which was very attentive by two servers and the view from the deck was ideal on such a glorious day.

However, the food a total letdown. It was very greasy, (to the point of grease on the plate under the food) unappetizing in appearance and nowhere near near the quality of the food or the presentation experienced with past lunches and brunches. Not wanting to embarrass my guest I did not send the food back. My mistake.

Instead I wrote on Monday to restaurant manager but I have not even had a thank you for my time and effort in bringing the experience to her attention. I wish I had taken photos of the plates to show them what was served but it didn't occur to me although I often take photos of wonderful meals and post the photos with a review on our local Facebook page, Stittsville Neighbours or even Trip Advisor.

I should have returned the meal but as I had a guest I did not want to make fuss. Instead I left all my greasy home fries and mentioned them to the server when she came to clear the plates, I also noted that my guest ate only one of his 3 obviously overcooked sausages. In view of the lack of response to my email, another time I would definitely return the meal AND follow up with management by email. And take a photo!

Due to the disappointment I thought it was important to advise the manager. A restaurant cannot make improvements or address problems if they aren’t advised of a bad experience. This seemed especially appropriate when previous experiences had been so good.

The lack of response comes as a real surprise and only adds to my disappointment in a restaurant that I know can do so...

We chose to have our wedding at Amberwood Lounge & Eatery (ALE) and we could not have been happier with our decision. In short, ALE is a beautiful venue that overlooks a golf course. It has delicious hors d’oeuvres and meal options, and has fantastic staff that will go above and beyond all expectations.

Sarah, one of ALE’s managers, graciously welcomed us from day one and immediately understood the type of wedding we wanted - a small and intimate ceremony in addition to a cocktail party that would include all of our friends and family. She put together a custom package that incorporated pieces from both ALE’s Events and Wedding package to tailor specifically to our needs. Every meeting we had was productive and positive. Unfortunately, Covid-19 hit and our plans hit a speed bump. Given everything that was going on, ALE was more than accommodating with the changes that needed to happen with our wedding and made every effort to make our wedding day as special and unique as ever. Even though we had to change our plans, Sarah, Ben and the rest of ALE’s team always jumped on board with our ideas and provided useful feedback. We were amazed with the team’s decorative style and their eye for attention to detail. The venue itself is an extremely flexible environment that can change easily to accommodate any event. Sarah, Ben and the rest of ALE’s team understood how we wanted to use our decor and supplemented it with some of their complimentary decor items. The end result was nothing short of beautiful. The menu options comprised of many delicious canapés and entrées that are unique to special events. Everything was delicious, and food allergies were taken seriously and accommodated, without issue, by the chef.

We would absolutely recommend ALE to couples looking for a wedding venue (during or after the pandemic). The venue and food options are fantastic, but more importantly, the very genuine and personalized attention given to our day was priceless.
