Food is apparently good (writing this before having the chance to sit down to eat) but it can't possibly overcome the painful process to obtain my order. Ordered at 5, confirmation email says it would be ready at 5:40. Upon arriving at 540, there are about 20 customers scattered randomly waiting in front of the window and the restaurant employees are running about not really providing any answers, which is never a good sign. I get things get busy (it was a mother's Day) but there was no organization or attempt to being orderly or even provide information/ETA on what was going on. During COVID better organization is especially important, but this was a mess. I finally got my food at 630, and got home just in time to help put the kids to bed, and the wife had to make them a different supper. Again I get things can be delayed, but you clearly need a different system if customers are bring told to pick up the food and stand around in a gas station (yes that's where they're located) for an hour. Won't order again, no food is worth...

I’ve lived in barrhaven and for years I’ve said barrhaven needs a good Thai place. I’ve seen the google listing before and thought “gas station Thai?” So, I continue to go to manotick or bank street, etc while this little gem sits in my backyard?

Don’t let the location fool you (like i did), this Thai restaurant is excellent! The owner is the nicest woman you’ll ever meet - came to Canada from Thailand on a work permit and has spent the last 10 years working in the kitchens of some of the best Thai restaurants in Ottawa.

I now order from aroy at least every other week, it’s the best gas station Thai you’ll ever have :)

Fantastic food, tasty, great ingredients and spices, and super nice people serving you. It’s worth the trip and a perfect Thai option...

Excellent Thai food!! I never would have eaten here, but after reading the comments, I had to try it. ❤️❤️❤️

The comments are correct, it is not only the best Thai food at a gas station, it is the best in Barrhaven.

We had Panang and the Pad Thai. The Panang was amazing 😁. It is every bit as good, if not better than, a certain high end restaurant on Bank Street. 😉. As someone else said, the Pad Thai is a little on the sweet side, but that is a personal preference.

I highly recommended you try them. It is a hidden jem, right here in Barrhaven. Just do it, you will not be sorry.

LOVE this place, we will be...

Decided to try here since our normal Thai place is a 40 min round trip drive, and didn’t want to leave the house. Got 2 pad kee maow’s and wasn’t impressed. First of all the price says $13.95 on their website but is $17.99 on ubereats. With tax, tip, and Uber eats fees they were over $25 each. I’m sorry, but these are in no way worth that price. The portions are small and majority is par cooked veggies. It’s spicy but has no flavor besides that. Will stick to Sabai Thai. Cheaper, bigger portions, and so much yummier. I need to go order a burger after eating this, still hungry!

Ordered Gaeng Khiao Wan (green curry with chicken, eggplant, broccoli, and pepper) and Tofu Pad Thai from Aroy Thai takeout today. The green curry was very spicy and flavorful, and paired perfectly with white rice. I would’ve preferred a bit more chicken and green in the curry, but overall it was satisfying. The Pad Thai had generous peanuts and the noodles were nicely cooked, not too soft and didn’t stick together, which is something that’s really hard to get it right. The spring roll was just average, especially compared to other Thai restaurants in town.

Wow, wow one of the best Thai restaurants I have tried and I have been eating Thai for 30 years in five countries. Deep flavors, tender chicken- not fatty, not tough- that is rare! Green curry, mango salad and pad Thai. We couldn’t stop commenting on how good it was. I know it’s in a gas station, but the woman has a full kitchen back there! I can’t wait to go back. Sorry the pictures are not great- I could not control myself lol.
