Chopped Leaf — Restaurant in Ottawa

I used to love this place and now I’m too angry to ever go back. First off their wraps used to be twice the size they are now. Secondly their app stinks. Ordering for same day makes it almost impossible to do. I ordered online today and it made it for pickup on Tuesday. Once i realized my error the confirmation email told me to call the number with any problems. I called the number several times and no one answers, and when they do answer they just hang up there’s no voicemail, so what is the point of asking someone to call the number when there’s no one to answer the phone? I go into the store and the man says he won’t have the order until Tuesday so I couldn’t even place the order with the money I had already spent to pick up the food today. He said the only way to reimburse me was to send an email not like the customer who places the order has that option. They actually have to call someone but if they don’t answer the phone you’re out of luck; with this kind of administrative disaster there is no point in trying to order online. The man at the counter said he was the only one working but never even offered an apology for the inconvenience. So they have lost a loyal customer. I will also point out their loyalty program is not even remotely worth it. Oh and their bathroom door...

3 Stars may be a bit harsh, 3.5 would be more appropriate. I have no complaints about the service or the venue, but the value of the food was so-so and the specific dishes I ordered didn't impress. I wasn't unhappy with my experience but I'm in no hurry to go back.

The soup was good but a little under seasoned, it needed some salt, and the portion is rather small. The sandwich is where they really missed the mark. The spicy chicken sandwich was composed of a chipotle ranch, chunks of chicken, sliced raw mushroom, grated cheddar cheese and onions served on sourdough toast. The whole combination was just all around pretty bland. It could have really used some lettuce or tomato or something to give it a little texture and flavour. Even the onion was really mild in flavour...it was like eating toast with a nice spicy ranch spread.

That being said it wasn't bad, it was just poor value when there is a better sandwich at a fraction of the price...

The food is good here and the only reason it's getting two stars. This is the second time in a row at this location that they served pitas (gluten) when specifically asked to take it out due to an allergy. Also, we had asked for simple modifications that didnt happen.

Additionally, one of our meals was served 10 minutes before the other one. The staff seemed to be untrained or I'll prepared to Serve the public. I have no issues with people learning how to do a job but this was beyond what I've ever seen before. The lady at the cash didnt have any idea what she was doing and was getting very little support from more seasoned employees. It was just a bad experience all around.
