I’m from out of town, (Alberta) came home, to meet up with my father at collinade, showed up at 5pm he wasn’t able to show up till 6:30 due to prior arrangements so was running late, had two drinks and was cut off (didn’t say a word to anyone, was polite and cleared my bill to the waitress who was done shift and tipped 20%) went outside to meet my elderly dad in the parking lot bartender said your cut off as I was walking out 🤷♂️(I don’t stumble or am I ignorant) , was initially to pick up an pizza for my mother after dinner; I walked across the street and took my business to elsewhere, not gonna drop $100 in food, plus tip so I told my father to drive across the street, and we’ll have some bar food, had 1 drink across the street with our meal and took a pizza from there too my mother 🤷♂️. Make better choices, I wasn’t driving as I cabbed, I was gonna buy enough food for my father to have food and didn’t have to make food, AND I was gonna bring a personal pizza to my mother before heading to my air BNB downtown. I’ll NEVER come to meet a family member again here, I’ll choose a higher priced restaurant, where they learn to not cut ppl off for two drinks for an hour and a half wait (father didn’t show up till 6:30 I arrived at 5pm) I’m on days off; so don’t tell me I can’t have a few drinks when I spend the weeks sober 🖕🏻 NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN, also invested in $20,000 a marketing business thinking about having a negative marketing towards collinade, if the owner wants to reach out a have a word reply to this review (I NEVER LEAVE A BAD REVIEW ONLY 20% or more to...
Read moreLoved this Colonnade location for at least 15 years. My wife and I always loved the pizza here, sauce and cheese so delicious and was always cooked to perfection, except once. The one time, my wife and I noticed the pizza was VERY different. Toppings, especially mushrooms, were raw. When I asked our waitress if they forgot to maybe precook them and others, she went to check with the cook and I sent her with a raw mushroom for an example. We got no answer or apology, we were just asking what happened. Made us feel very disrespected and uncomfortable, as if, what do we know and how dare we question the cook. Takes many years to earn respect, takes seconds to lose it. Just did not like the response we got, as if the waitress did not want to repeat what the cook said to her. Took me a year to write this review, but wanted to share it. We have never returned since, and will never return to this location. 280 Metcalfe and 2140 Carling locations are AWESOME! I would strongly suggest to all of you. I dont tolerate arrogant behaviors, my choice in life. :-) UPDATE! SO, we gave it a try again, new ownership. The first few times were GREAT. But the last several times, not so great. Ordered Combo with Olives, chef forgot olives so instead of telling us, he threw on raw olives on top of the pizza. Waitress also thought it was WEIRD. Next few times, Pizza not thoroughly cooked and veg tasted raw. We have given up and now only go to the original location on Gilmour st OR the Carling location which is also excellent. Write a review and let US know if we should...
Read moreSO sad! Used to be good but not anymore.
I used to frequent this place long ago and it was great. Not anymore. My family (2A2C) happened into the restaurant for a quick bite. Walking in it smelled old and stale. There was outdated and well well worn furniture and carpet, the bathroom barely worked and the whole place was in need of a long overdue paint job and spruce up. At least the food has the reputation of being good so we sat at a booth (there was only one other couple there-which was odd for a lunch time Saturday) and ordered a coffee, 2 personal size pizzas (2 toppings each) and 2 kid's juices. Our middle aged and tired looking server (who disappeared out the door mid-meal without so much as a mention to us that they were leaving) dropped things off in almost total silence. Drinks were standard...nothing out of the norm but the pizzas were another thing. Maybe 6" across and that's being generous, so ridiculously sparse with the toppings (pepperoni and bacon & pineapple and sausage) it blew my mind! If you got 2 pieces of toppings per slice you were lucky! The problem you couldn't tell because they were all under a think blanket of chewy unmelted plastic (oops, I meant cheese) and the discovery of what you (didn't) get was in every mouthful. Then we had to ask for the bill which was a delightful surprise of almost $50!!!!!!!!!!! For 2 tiny sub standard pizzas and a coffee and 2 kid juices $50. Let that sink in. Maybe once upon a time come to this place but not anymore, especially with all the other options there...
