Ichiban Bakery — Restaurant in Ottawa

I would give this bakery 5 stars for the croissants and breads but zero for their florentines. While they are a lovely and tasty cookie and with some candied fruit and dipped in chocolate but these are absolutely not florentines and their price is outrageous. 4$ each! Cream cheese buns?! To die for. Also wonderful are the ham and rosemary croissants. Be sure to check out the cakes in the glass display next to the cash; ask what kinds they are and you will pleasantly delighted. The cakes are often all pre-ordered, but check them out so you can get one in the future. Really disappointed with what they had. Maybe I was expecting a Japanese bakery since it says Japanese Cream Cheese Bun and the name Ichiban is widely used in Japanese stores. Most items didn't interest me whatsoever, going to a specialized bakery will always be a better bet. Update: Tried the only "Japanese" item. It was bad, tasted like two ingredients, a light sugary crepe surrounding 150g of cream cheese. Don't recommend going there. Surprised...
