It was my first time ordering online with Walmart. It is one of the worst experiences I ever had placing an order online because of the following reasons:
Majority of the items (all grocery items, nothing of special kind, later on I easily purchased all those by VISITING a Walmart Branch) that I selected at the time of placing the order, and were available at that time, were later on cancelled because of unavailability, which shows major flaw in their system. They have no clue if an item is available or not. Once the order is confirmed it must be Walmart responsibility to ensure customer gets the item. I can understand if it happens for one of two items from the cart only but all the main items from my orders were cancelled because of unavailability.
Hours after confirming the order through email Walmart informed me that these items are not available. As I said earlier those were the items that I mainly required. Once I received the message, I immediately tried to cancel the order but to my surprise the system allows you to cancel the order within half an hour only. Imagine, Walmart informs you that some of the items are not available hours after you place the order when you have no option to cancel the order. That is exactly what happened to me. When I saw that the main items that I wanted were unavailable I tried to cancel the order but couldn't do it as the time had already lapsed.
Walmart almost forces you to pay tips to the driver. On my order 10% of the tip was automatically applied and there was no button to cancel it and there was no help available to understand how to edit it. I searched on Walmart help page but could not find anything. Then I decided to move on with the tip. At the very last page I said a table that allows you to edit the tip amount. I went there and fixed it.
As I was unable to cancel the order due to the reasons mentioned above, I had to pay the delivery charged for unimportant items.
After having this worst online experience of my life, I have decided never to place an online order to Walmart. Walmart, being a reputed organization, in my opinion, should take these notes seriously and try to fix these flaws as soon as possible if they want to excel in the online industry. Once the order is placed to arrange the items even if they need to delivery, it through other branches. If it is not possible, Walmart MUST give sufficient time to the customer to cancel the order if Walmart makes any changes to the order. What is the benefit of informing the customer that some of the items will not be delivered when he/she cannot cancel the order if those items were the main items for him/her. In case Walmart does not want the customer to cancel the order then they should not charge the customer for delivery charges. So that customer may be able to place the order for those items to some other branch. What Walmart is doing right now is causing customer inconvenience as well as extra delivery charges as the customer will have to pay for the delivery again once he/she places the order to some other branch and who knows he/she will get the same experience from that branch too. My last point is regarding the Tip to the driver. Walmart should make it very clear that it is editable at a later stage. The Walmart should not charge it in the first place and let the customer decide it themselves. Automatic charging it and then giving it no clue that it is editable at the last page of before completing the is not the best practice. If I remember it right, the option to edit the tips was even after providing the credit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe petite middle aged Asian woman who works as a clerk at the return desk at this Billings Walmart is just unpleasant and bizarre. If she doesn't like the look of you personally, or she's seen you before, then it's up to her own discretion what she will and won't return, if any, no matter how small the amount, with or without a receipt, even with valid ID. I'd last been there well over a year ago and she then very reluctantly and questioningly did 3 returns for a grand total of about $40 on a gift card (when you don't have a receipt) and I guess she never forgets a face that she doesn't like because when I tried to return 2 items yesterday for around $30 without a receipt, she flat out refused. The items were in unused, new condition with tags, not expired, not food, drug, or personal items.
In fact, 2 years ago when I had receipts she initially refused to return some unopened conditioner which I had bought, (I mistook it for shampoo- similar packaging), on the basis that it could have been used, which was absurd. I suggested she weigh a new bottle with the one that I was trying to return if she was that concerned and then having reached the limits of my patience, I asked to see the manager. She didn't call him and instead scowled and did the return. But basically she's calling random people thieves and liars and treats you as such whenever you try to do what should be a simple return. And I've done other returns here with different clerks and had no problems. I buy some things for elderly handicapped relatives, and sometimes they want something different, (and sometimes receipts get lost), so returns are inevitable and what used to make Walmart so appealing was their accessible return policy. It would also be alot easier if they allowed you to email the receipt to yourself when at the register/point of purchase like they do at Home Depot.
It's not so much that I take it personally, but that it's SO frustrating and time consuming and erratic. Not to mention having to stand in line for 20 minutes before you even hit the brick wall that is this woman. I'd only gone to this Walmart if I happened to be going to the Billings Mall for something else, thinking I'd save time. It turns out to be anything but.
If you ever go here and see her angry face at the return desk, I'd advise either turning away and go to the other Walmarts, which I've had no problem returning things to, or be prepared for time consuming frustration, discomfort and veiled accusations. Management needs to lose this "discretionary" clause when it comes to allowing this woman to "judge" a person's character or appearance (and mine is perfectly normal), and instead clearly base it on a non-franchise/company wide, preset amount/refund maximum limit, and type and condition of items that it will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give zero stars if possible. The times I have frequented this shop, it has always been a nightmare. From the workers to the other consumers. I was asking a worker for directions to get back into the mall, and as soon as she spoke to me one of her colleagues came behind her and told her to āhurry up with this.ā I explained to the very rude lady that her coworker was simply helping me and patience is a virtue. Super disrespectful that she felt comfortable talking to her coworker like that in front of customers.
Now onto the customers. What the actual heck tate is wrong with people these days? no one has a brain to extend common courtesy to other people. anytime me or my friends have come here, we get the nastiest stares from everyone for no reason
a couple customers were so comfortable exclaiming how āeveryone who works here has an accent. i thought this was Canadaā As a Canadian myself, it is very sad how comfortable our society has become with spewing hatred out loud. Everyone has a right to make a living, and international students and immigrants are here to enhance their opportunity.
if you donāt understand something, simply ask them to repeat it or write it down for you. i can understand itās frustrating when there is a language barrier, but i thought the tossed salad was what made Canada so unique. we need to be kinder to one another. This is not the free will God had envisioned for us.
one fossil was rushing me as i was checking my stuff out with a cashier, and ended up shoving my cart into the wall. thereās always screaming and chaos. i understand theft has been a huge issue lately, but iām too anxious and hate being in big grocery stores to even contemplate being a thief and do not appreciate being treated as such.
itās such a DISGUSTING environment, and definitely very telling of the kind of behaviour walmart embraces. everyone is miserable and tries to take it out on you without having the emotional regulation to mind their own business and continue with their shopping.
With all that said, shop here if youāre doing a study or a social experiment if you want to learn about the kind of turn humanity has taken for the worst. I understand why we have become so selfish and individualistic, but something needs to change. Society cannot continue in this ācrabs in a bucketā way. Pray for world unity. I pray things do not continue to become worse, before it...
