First let me tell you this review was going to a minus 1. Son's birthday and he wanted steak so normally we would go to the KEG or somewhere else. We had previous great experience with this place so no prob I would call to make a reservation for early time of 3 or 3:30 give on we have a toddler and an infant that we didnt want to disturb other so that time was great.
Fast forward ... we get there and this older lady tells us the table we reserved we only have 30 mins bc she needs it. I was confused, made a reservation for 7 people for 330. With the resturant fully empty told me in the most unapologetic tone that "well your time was for 2pm and you came late so I guess I'll have to see where I can even put you". No apology or ask what happend ..m her employee made the mistake, but we felt like it was too much of a burden. She shuffled her papers and "ugh ... urgh" noises then finally comes back and give us a table and said I need it for 6 so you have a bit if time. I was so appalled that one guest left to sit the car and we did almost leave (again empty restruant) and we could have spent out money else where (4 adults 2 kids 1 infant).
Enter Raymond our server (who think they made sure he was ours given theblooks on our faces). This guy, what a life saver. This guy needs to be promoted or recognized for going above and beyond. Made great suggestions as I'm extremely picky with wine and food. I felt that the first unpleasant person didnt think we would spend much.
Raymond was on point. We ordered cocktails, apps and huge mains with dessert. Raymond may sure he took care of the wine even putting it in the fridge to keep cold as we ordered 2 bottles. He had a great way with kids, took ownership "dont worry I'll take care of you", which you dont see.
The drinks were on par! He noticed the beer may be flat so he replaced it right away. He never stopped for 1 sec.
The food is as follows:
Apps: calamari Dinner: 3 9oz Filet Mignon meals, Shrimp Fettuccine, chicken breast fillet, and childrens spaghetti. Dessert: I cant remember but we had 3 of them it was outstanding.
Drinks: martini, bottle of Shiraz Dandelion, and Cali chardonnay and beaus Lug tread.
The food was just amazing. The wine selection was just outstanding.
Raymond worked so hard smd really cared. I thought he was the owner. Brand meant alot to him he saved this potentially disastrous evening and made it the beat we have had in a very long time
I highly recommend, it's a must the food, the drinks everything. My feedback is for Raymond to get a shout out and a learning opportunity for the first older lady.
Although felt judged and leaving spending half of 1k and making sure Raymond knew just how good he was great. Next time we go we will ask to served by Raymond and we will bring our friends.
If you want excellent tasting and prefectly cooked food, great wine list and want an overall great evening give this place a try, I promise you wont be disappointed ... ask...
Read moreWe did not like this place. Absolutely the worst food I’ve ever had at a “steak house”.
Cocktails were terrible, tasted like pre-mix and way too sweet.
“Escargot” was literally 80 percent mushrooms. Like why are there mushrooms in my escargot and why are they the main feature? I spend most of the time digging around the dish trying to find the escargot but kept coming up mushrooms. And the snails tasted like mushrooms. I could barely tell the difference.
The service was very odd. He kept coming over about every five minutes to check on us. May have well joined us on our date and sat at the table with us. This isn’t good service, this is pure annoyance.
Here’s the worst part: My husband and I love to get a little of everything and share every meal or plate. We always buy cocktails or wine, and our date night bills are always high, so we aren’t looking to cheap out, we just like to explore as much of the menu as possible. At this steak house, we ordered appetizers & cocktails and then told the server we were planning on sharing the 65 dollar Surf & Turf, the most expensive meal on the menu. He said we would be charged 5 dollars to share. We had no problem with that, as we have experienced it before at other restaurants, as we like sharing and would rather have a little of everything than two huge meals. What I did have a problem with is that when our 6oz filet mignon arrived, they had split it onto two plates, and on top of that they actually cut the 6oz filet mignon in half horizontal and then cooked it. So, it was now about 1cm thick and no longer an 6oz filet, but two disgustingly thin 3oz filets. How could you cut my filet in half like this? I was in shock completely that we were not told ahead of time that this is what would happen. I would have refused. I want to enjoy my 65 dollar plate not have everything pre-cut up for me. The lobster was also so rubbery, we had to send it back, and they also cut that in half as you can see in my photo. By the time the lobster came back the meal was basically finished, I mean it was only 3oz of steak.
The steak was poorly seasoned, and over cooked, probably because they cut it in half and it’s hard not to overcook a 3oz mini steak.
I couldn’t leave fast enough. I had read so many reviews raving about this place, and I was highly disappointed in every part of my experience and the food.
I am saying this is not only the worst steak I’ve ever had but also the worst steak house I’ve ever been to.
This place is far from Delicious and I would highly recommend going anywhere else for a steak. Chain restaurants can cook a better steak at half the price than this place. Clearly this place caters only to a older crowd. Plus, it closes at like 9pm, so not really for a later dinner or date crowd.
Please do yourself a favour, leave Orleans and experience another steak house in the city. Do not take anyone on a date here unless you want to have a server...
Read moreOur first time dining at Delicious – we came to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary, a few things to note:
Pros it’s a NICE place! -food was good -service was good
Cons -we requested a corner booth for our reservation that was at 1845hrs. We arrived on time and we were told that our table was not ready but the occupants had paid and they were waiting for them to leave. The server offered to take us to another table to sit there and wait until our table was ready. Considering it is winter and we all had winter jackets on, it seemed silly to get comfortable at this new (smaller) table only to move again. Honestly, the least the restaurant could have done was offered us a complimentary cocktail/mocktail for the inconvenience. So we sat around awkwardly by the table (not booth – which we had specifically requested) that was supposed to be ours waiting for the occupants to leave – and they didn’t seem to be in any rush. It was only after we called another server over and ask if there was another table we could have when she asked us which table was supposed to be ours. The occupants at “our” table heard us tell the server (politely) that we were waiting for them to leave. That triggered them to leave. For a fine dining establishment I definitely feel they could have handled the situation better. Knowing a table was reserved for 1845hrs, they could have politely told the people (who had paid and finished) that they needed the table rather than have 6 people wait around awkwardly.
All in all, we’re willing to give this place another shot and hopefully in addition to knowing how to take a reservation, they are able to implement it. The Con was not a deal breaker but it was moreso...
