Excellent food and amazing customer service !
This was our first time trying Vietnamese food (fully halal) and I can say it has been an amazing experience.
We ordered their chicken pho, chicken fried rice, stir fried noodles with mild chili chicken and for dessert: banana cheesecake.
Chicken pho was a light flavorful clear broth with noodles and it was a hearty yet refreshing meal ! I will definitely be coming back for more pho ! Their serving size was huge and can easily be shared. The staff noticed that we were going to share and had brought extra utensils and bowls to accommodate us. Not only that they were extremely accommodating of children as well, bringing a colorful set of dishes for my little one to use.
Their chicken fried rice was flavorful and a very kid friendly meal too as it was very easy for my little one to eat and was quite delicious !
Their stir fried noodles with chili chicken was extremely delicious. And once again their serving portions were huge ! Noodles were paired with crispy vegetables and perfectly cooked saucy chicken! Highly recommend !
We ended our meal with fried banana cheesecake and that was the perfect end to this delicious meal ! It was a crispy roll with banana and cold cheesecake inside. The flavors and textures of this dessert were delicious!
The best part of our visit to this place was not only just the food but also the extremely friendly staff. It seemed like a home based restaurant and the husband and wife were an absolutely lovely duo! They gave our little one ice cream as a complimentary gift and they made it really pretty and delicious too ! This was such a beautiful and lovely gesture that made us feel welcoming and wanting to come again.
The ambience is also wonderful. It's the best place to go for a relaxing, hearty, flavorful meal of huge portions! Highly recommend...
Read moreI’m a HUGE fan of Vietnamese food, especially Bún (Rice vermicelli noodle bowl topped with fresh herbs, vegetables and your choice of protein, fish sauce.)
About 15 years ago when our son was young we spent every weekend swimming at Plant Recreation Centre in Chinatown. Post-swim we’d head to what was then Golden Turtle on Booth St. for a feed of delicious Vietnamese food. Growing up my son was used to Vietnamese as “fast food” replacing McDonalds, Harvey’s, A&W and the like.
After Golden Turtle closed we did the rounds to find a suitable replacement. We enjoyed trying pretty much all the Viet restaurants in Chinatown and surrounding area.
Was I ever glad to come across Saigon Bistro Orléans- Ottawa on St. Joseph, in the The Heart of Orléans.
The ingredients found in their dishes are not only fresh and source locally, they are all Halal (I should mention they don’t serve pork as protein, as they are fully Halal). I’m not sure how they marinate their beef, but it’s to die for. Sooooo much flavour and more tender than any beef I’ve had from any other Vietnamese restaurant.
I’ve posted pictures of my go-to order for you all to drool over.
V5 - Mix Meat with Spring Roll V1 - Grilled Beef (Bò Nướng) A8 - Vietnamese Wings (Cánh Gà Chiên Giòn Vietnam)
The restaurant and the owner/employees are real gems and make me feel like family every time I go. If you’re a lover of Vietnamese cuisine, or have never tried Vietnamese food before (and wanna try the good stuff😉), I HIGHLY recommend you try Saigon...
Read moreWe went in with our three little kiddos (1, 3 and 5 year old). The space is kid friendly in the sense they really welcome whole families to come even with young kids, they have kid friendly plates, bowls and utensils and are willing to make modifications to menu where possible to suit a kid's palate. They have high chairs available, there are no changing stations in the washroom but also not a surprise for a restaurant this size but would have been nice. The food here is AMAZING, like everything we've ordered this time and last time just tasted great and the fact the food also kept our kids happy and eating without having to resort to screen time for some peace kinda sold us too. I loved the chicken and beef vermicelli bowl which had soooo much meat I could hardly finish and enough noodles to feel fully satisfied (usually never happens any other Vietnamese place). The Pho base also tasted incredibly comforting and savory, we got the chicken one for the kids and all three gave a thumbs up to taste and texture. My husband really liked the sizzling beef and rice, good amount of rice too which was nice. We loved our appetizers too, the crispy chicken rolls and the chicken wonton, all great and devoured quickly. We found the prices super fair compared to market value plus the amount of food given and quality. We don't go out to eat often anymore as cost of living has shot up so much but it's so satisfying that on the occasions we have, finding locations like this that makes...
