Fat Bastard Burrito Co. — Restaurant in Ottawa

This review brought the rating from 4.5 to 4.4, earn another 5 star review to earn it back. It also won’t show all my photos but last night I order a chicken quesadilla and got that. Just very gross, cold coleslaw on a fajita, with microwaved fish, didn’t like that, my $4.99 delissio pizza quenched my tastes better then $24 eating that, sorry.

To start off, I’d like to say that I’ve ate at many places, and I normally get the same type of stuff, so I’m not over exaggerating with any opinions, this is my honest review and I’ll keep it short. In reality I’d probably call this place like a 2.9 out of 5 , and that’s just comparible to all other places that sell the same foods for similar prices or even less. I’m giving it a one star because I particularly haven’t enjoyed this place for it’s buck, I only eat here out of steaming hunger at 1 in the morning. Where I live, they’re the only place open at 1am for UberEats and low delivery fees. W/driver tip, service fees and tax, it’ll always cost an extra $10 unless u pick up.

Anyways, this restaurant seems to only have their niche things they do well (average—-if not less depending on the worker). I haven’t actually been through the whole menu, I’ve had friends who’ve gotten the things I haven’t and they’re always saying it’s meh. Every side dish or odd thing they have is meh, tastes meh, and the workers aren’t trained sufficiently on how to make them since they aren’t ordered as often. The proof of this is that everything you see on the menu is false advertised.That’s not what will be served to you, it’ll look different, it’ll have different ingredients usually, and often the display is different, you are getting something different, it’ll taste most likely alright, but it’s not what’s on the picture.

Now to start, I got a poutine from them once. The price was around $17 I believe, a little up there. Now I know many places serve poutine, and I’ve gotten many poutine.I remember from this place, just too much gravy. Now, still fed my baked * and I’m sure perhaps the specific cook made that error, though,I’m thinking he either could’ve been trained to not do that,or straight up they put too much gravy in that.

Next I’ll address some miscellaneous stuff.The extra requests on orders,they often ignore these things or don’t process them correctly.I perceive them as simply preferring not to,it annoys me.You’ll ask for utensils and napkins and they won’t do it half the time,you’ll ask for multiple drinks and just get the one drink(on the receipt it’s not like “coke X2” it’s like “coke X1” “coke X1” and the workers get it wrong I suppose),extra cheese and it almost like they give you less cheese because you asked for more,more meat and its just the same thing.I wouldn’t pay for getting extra stuff at this place because this place prioritizes saving money in any way possible.

Now the saving money part.To me, the burrito portion sizes seem small compared to other places,and they cost even more for ordering the exact same size.Quesada does the large burrito for around $11 I believe and this place is around $14-16.Quesada strains the grease though,the ingredients taste better and the size appears to be larger.This place also waters down their sauces and fills the burritos with extra rice to save money.I find all my burritos have minimal expensive ingredients,maximum filling ingredients.And the burrito is just leaking watery grease out the bottom.

Now the desserts.Falsely advertised and overpriced.The deep fried mars bar is actually pretty small, very pogo bready and almost hollow on the inside.This is atleast my experience.Saw no evidence of an actual mars bar being in there,no caramel,just dry mulled chocolate from what it tasted like.I also got the deep fried cheesecake.False advertised big time.It was like a doughey type of fajita(thicker then a dempsters traditional fajita)with a melted vanilla-like Austrian-like cream on the inside.I suppose the cream was warm and drinkable, but it was un eatable,and not enough bread to absorb the sugar soup at the end.Not a...

I clearly wasn't impress with how this location handle the food people eat!! Food if not handle properly can be lethal!! I always pay attention how any restaurant handle our food!! This location here their burritos press was beside the cash, people touching cash touching gloves and making burritos!! We went to this Burritos location we took 4 burritos 2 pull beef and two chicken with fully loaded fries with one that had pulled beef. We spent 100$ almost it was 94$ approximately. I have started to eat my burritos with my bf and there was indeed an aftertaste a chemical taste to the burritos!! How and Why there was that taste inside food we dont know.. I went inside the restaurant after tasting this taste.. I returned the 4 burritos have spoken to the franchise owner and I have told her I wasnt impressed at all with their food and I have explained that food can be lethal if not handle the way it should be handled. She was suppose to do a follow up with us she has not called me back like she said she would after her investigation. We were sick for 1 week after eating there before our body came back to normal. Unfortunately Fat Bastard Burritos lost me as a customer. I think certain culture just don't care if the food they serve make their customer sick as long as they make money that is what matters. I will never go back to Fat Bastard Burritos they lost a very good customer because everytime i went there i spent 100$ and i have sent tons of customers from the bank to them but i'm done ..I don't recommend any of their franchise location go for a restaurant that is privately owned.

The service, The food inconsistent! When someone enters your restaurant for a first and they leave with a food poisoning they will never enter your restaurant ever again.

This will be very costly the day someone gets hospitalized because of food poisoning because employees are not careful how they handle chemicals.. Chemicals are not suppose to touch food or be near food. For this reason you deserve a 1 star.

FYI: if someone cleans the windows where the veggies are and they are not covered and it goes in the food there you have a food...

Our burritos were delicious. Mine had too much sauce which tasted just like thinned out bbq sauce (was suppose to be chipotle chicken but just tasted very sweet). The order was made correct and the servings were enormous. The customer service at the end of my visit was absolutely atrocious. I work and have worked in the service industry. I know what it's like to be overwhelmed when it's busy and not want to lose focus (I worked at Starbucks). My order was first I was the only one in the store then a group of couples came in and it suddenly got busy, about 8 people in total. After waiting patiently then seeing my two burritos sitting on the counter wrapped and ready to go, I took my receipt out to see when I paid, it was 21 minutes earlier. All the other staff was tending to other things. I kept waiting. Couple more minutes. My burritos were sitting on a side counter and people kept walking by them and looking. Finally I just learned forward and made eye contact with all the people on the floor and said in a pleasant tone, "I don't want to be rude, but I've been waiting literally 20 minutes and I'm pretty sure those are my burritos over there points ". The two gentlemen furthest from me asked what my order #s were and I said "14 and 15", the girl closest (refilling toppings) says, "they're probably working on your nachos and salsa AND THAT'S NOT MY JOB." I was immediately stunned by her response and told her I didn't know that's what I was waiting for, no one had told me but clearly she knew which order was mine. Her attitude was rude and inappropriate. As far as I'm concerned she's part of a team and she should have told me she will check on it or at least then around and ask what's going on, not tell me it's not her responsibility. She basically brushed me off. Someone rushed over right away with my order. I was in such a distraught state when I left your shoppe. I was angry the whole way home and while eating. I'm extremely disappointed for my first time trying...
