I drove by and thought it sounded ok - it is hard to find good lasagna. I should never have stopped. I've had lasagna in many places in Canada and the US - truck stops, greasy spoons, places that didn't need to worry about return visits, mini-malls, and yet this was BY FAR the WORST lasagna I have ever had. I don't know how they could have made it any worse. Burning it would have been an improvement. For starters the meat sauce we chose was AWOL. Gone. Not a sign sauce had ever been in proximity with the noodles. The noodles themselves were not layered as in a proper lasagna, but jumbled, more like a bowl of fettuccine, and had a pathetically thin layer of cheese on top. Yum! Dry noodles - just what everyone wants! The bread that accompanied it wasn't garlic bread as one would expect, but a bag of pre-buttered rolls that came from the cheap end of the grocery store bread aisle. Add to that the hours they post on the web, and on their takeout menu are not correct as the person posing as a "cook" apparently likes to leave as soon as the open sign is off and likes to do the cleanup before then - he grumbled when we rolled in just before 9:30. We had an additional side order of garlic bread while waiting for our takeout, as the family size lasagna is only available for takeout and not eat in, and it had no garlic, just toasted with some cheese melted on top. On the up side, it wasn't burnt, which was probably an accomplishment.

For a place whose name suggests that this is their specialty, I can't imagine how bad the stuff that isn't "their specialty" must be. Dignifying it as a restaurant is an insult to both restaurants, and cooks everywhere. As for the positive reviews here and elsewhere, I must assume the owners and their friends and relatives must have been entering fake reviews as I cannot see how a place could do this badly, and actually succeed at anything else. If I could give it 0...

Found this place about a year ago moving back to Ottawa and it is my absolute favourite go to spot. I worked in kitchen’s with similar menus all of my life and I’m a bit of a food snob because of it… I was really missing the food at some of the places I’ve worked in and House of Lasagna does the best Italian food in all of Ottawa out of everywhere I’ve found and makes me miss home less. Whoever takes the phones is always so incredibly friendly, their deliveries always arrive sooner than expected or right on time and the food- don’t get me started. Best meatballs I think I’ve ever had. Their sauce is to die for. Has just a little bit of spice to it but just the perfect amount to give it that extra something. The subs are absolutely amazing and so filling. 10/10 for everything on the menu I’ve tried.

Also their phone number is probably the easiest thing in the world for me to remember because I was born in Ottawa (613) my birthday is 7/28 and I was born in ‘97 (funny coincidence) and I honestly love it

Keep up the amazing work House of Lasagna!

First things first, the waitress was so sweet and kind. The service was fantastic and incredibly fast. HOWEVER, the food…. Was absolutely horrible. Everything they make is frozen and microwaved.(Hence the incredibly fast service!) It is called The House Of Lasagna, so I figured I would order a lasagna. It was easily the worst lasagna I have ever had in my entire life. It’s actually disrespectful to Italian culture to even call it a lasagna. It was layers of NOODLES with literally nothing in between. The sauce was pretty well none existent, with CANNED mushrooms on top. I am not a picky eater. I will always finish my food, but I took 3 bites of this and had to ask for a box. I got a box so I could politely throw it in the trash when I walked out, instead of being a karen and complaining inside. If you are thinking of coming here, I recommend that you literally go...

I walked in the morning of to order a family size lasagna and garlic bread as I was receiving brother from Sudbury..I met Imad the owner and cook explained that we had a Pizza place when I was younger and that out lasagna had thin sliced roast beef between the layers the way my sister in law made it at our restaurant. I asked if he could and without hesitation he granted my wishes. It was delivered on time pippin hot with plenty of bread. It was as amazing as my sister's so long ago. My brother cut into the lasagna and after a few bites his eyes got teary and said wow you made it like Fran's ( our restaurant name). I chuckled and told about house of lasagna. Such an amazing experience all around. I'm sold from now on. Imad delivered 10 times over. A return customer from now on. Micheal The Designer from Wflowers.

Great service, large portions, good pizza, ok lasagna. Service was really friendly and quick. The waiter recommended the lasagna and pizza. Tried the following: Caesar salad -- large portion, tastes ok Pizza -- very tasty, and crispy crust Lasagna -- sauce is watery and not flavorful The salad looked good, but the dressing felt like a generic dressing. I was hoping they made their own dressing. The lasagna wasn't the greatest. I really wanted to like it, but the flavor just wasn't there. The portion is huge, but that's about it. The pizza is excellent! I was so pleasantly surprised and I would come back just for the pizza! I'm not sure if they were having an off night with the lasagna, but they were spot on with the pizza.

So ordered spaghetti and lasagna for $30 this evening and ended up with a sauceless spaghetti I had to throw it back into a pan and make my own spaghetti sauce! *Thank you for providing me with noodles House of Lasagna!* We managed to eat a little bit of the spaghetti but tossed all the rest of the food out and ordered from somewhere else! Worst part is this restaurant is right across the street from me so it would be convenient to order from often but I will most definitely never order again! Saving money on sauce doesn't bring more customers, you're losing potential long term customers!
