Hurley's Grill Stittsville — Restaurant in Ottawa

The worst customer experience I've ever had hands down. Had a reservation for a large group, good service and quality was poor. I had the montreal smoked briskett sandwich which took 1hr 45 min to arrive and my wife ordered the fajitas which took 2 hrs to arrive to the table, however the fajitas arrived with no tortillas, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes. Assumed the server was bringing thise out waited a further 20 minutes then hunted the server down. She informed us the remainder of the items would be right out. 20 minutes we received the cheese and lettuce and tomatoes but still no tortillas however server said they'd be right out. Another 10 min pass by, the steak, peppers and onions are at this point are stone cold, now we still haven't recieved our tortillas which to me are a vital part of the fajita experience nor have we received an apology for this piss poor service and the remainder of our group is now leaving. The server brings us take out containers for our fajitas which my wife now has no desire to consume and they removed the cost of the fajitas from the bill. Now up until this point I have not received an apology or been offered a managers assistance. I have now had to take my wife to the tim hortons next door so she can eat dinner. I understand large groups can be difficult to service. However if the restaurant is not equiped or experienced enough to service a group of our size tell me so on the phone and i will book elsewhere. I just discovered this restaurant as I am fairly new to the area. This is a very good neighbourhood restaurant and breakfast place. It is spacious with several booths and other seating choices. I visited 3 times so far. First visit was around dinner hour and we tried the Wednesday burger specials. Both burgers we had were very good. I would order the burgers again. Service very good. Next visit was morning breakfast and we were satisfied. The only thing that would have made this so much better was a better coffee. I find this problem with most breakfast places. I would drive further and frequent more often if I knew I was getting a good cup of coffee. Service very good. The third visit, I dropped by alone after multiple appointments and had a bowl of soup which was good, and a grilled cheese that was made with a thin cheese slice. Well this location is surely not stepping up to the plate.

Cons: The ribs were cold on arrival and the fries were from frozen and not the good fry wagon kind more like the crispy KFC style without the good gravy. The garlic chicken wings were from frozen or pre-cooked, they were dry and hard and I have my doubts I got a pound worth.

The problem is, that Ottawa has tonnes of these sorts of pubs, all with the same basic menu. If you want to excel from the others I would start with fresh food.

Pros: Friendly Staff and the interior was very nice looking. Onion soup and bread was good. Great place to have a beer.
