I dont know if it was a bad night, but our experience was disappointing. We noted they are much pricier than our usuall Nigerian food place but we still decided to give it a shot because of the good reviews. First of all, when we called they were already out of a lot of things... no fried rice, no chicken etc.. we settled for turkey, jollof and egusi/poundo.. and it was a whole three hours to close.. second everything thing was sooooo saltly! egusi was bearable but could barely eat the jollof.. to top it off.. there were some burnt pieces of rice in it as if they gave us bottom pot. Overall the food was not great at all. Again, given the high ratings .. maybe it was an off night, but for what you guys charge.. you need to be consistent because we honestly felt a bit duped.

Response: To clarify my comment, it was surprising that you guys were out of so many food options three hours to closing.. not that we waited 3 hrs for it. Lol We were actually have a splendid day.. so splendid that we decided to spend a few extra dollars on your highly priced food only to receive salty food with burnt rice in the jollof. Your lack of accountability and deplorable attitude towards your patrons feedback blows my mind! To anyone reading this, the ratings are good for now, but know that there is a chance you might be treated the same way we were and consider more budget friendly...

Wasn’t feeling well and had a craving for some type of hearty soup. Our usual location has a very spicy but great tasting egusi. They were out this time so tried Mamma Amala. Ordering was a breeze even though I had a few questions. They answered and once I finally ordered, they told me I could come right arrive and it would be ready.

Sure enough, I arrived to a strange looking building in an area of the city that I’d never been. Suffice it to say I was very nervous and even more skeptical when I pulled up to the counter. It’s a shared counter/ front desk and although I knew the space was shared I hadn’t expected full what I encountered.

My food was brought to me promptly once I communicated to the folks at the Indian restaurant who first approached me ( their restaurant is closest to the door).

I ordered from this place once unfortunately I was super disappointed. I placed my order for Egusi soup . And I mentioned several times that I want fish because I do not eat any type of other meat. When my order eventually came, the soup was full of what I believe is to be either cow meat ,or something I’m not quite sure . oNLY 1 piece of fish .

I called to let them know that what I received was incorrect. They told me it was because they didn’t have enough fish. This was very unfortunate. I would have expected for them to call back before they go ahead Place my order to let me know that they did not have enough fish to give me fully fish dish.

I ate the 1 Piece of fish and the rest went in...
