Visit this restaurant very often. In Ottawa it’s hard to find good sushi they practically don’t exist. Sapporo is somewhat good but if you compare to sushi’s in Ottawa it is one of the better places to visit. Cons: interior sucks looks really cheap and celling is a complete turn off for the restaurant. Work hrs suck for some reason they open at 5PM for dinner and before 5 nobody will pick up a phone so if you want to order take out your best bet to pick it up is at 6PM. Only in Ottawa restaurants close after lunch and open in the evening. If you think you want to have late dinner you probably have to be there min 1 hr before close. I go to this restaurant often so know what I want. Last time came in 45 min before closing and servers didn’t want to let us in saying kitchen will be closing in 30min. Hallo it was 7:15 it’s unacceptable. Ended up going to different sushi restaurant. Waitresses some don’t speak English they do try hard but because of English you have a feeling that sometimes you get treated not as how you should be but that is my 5c.
Overall food is good price wise you get much better deals in Toronto but for Ottawa it’s pricey as it’s not all you can eat but quality is good never got sick so it’s good. In the area it’s one of the better places to go food wise not...
Read moreWent in on a Saturday evening for dinner and had a good time. There was very few seating for solo diners, so I had to wait a couple of minutes before I was seated. The restaurant was also busy at that time [7pm], therefore the wait.
I ordered the Negi Toro Roll (maki) and the Alaska. Both were good, but I preferred the Negi Toro. Everything tasted fresh. While good, I don't really feel completely satisfied with what I ate; it's good but nothing really blew my mind also considering the price of each item, but I think I'll be back to try other things in the menu (I'm eyeing the Dancing or Snow Corn for next time) before completing forming an opinion on this restaurant.
Service was good; there are pagers on each desk that you can use to call the waiters. They were very busy but they responded to the paging efficiently which was appreciated. I was seated at one of the tables at the back and could hear the doors banging everytime someone came in or left which was annoying. Nothing much you can do about that though if there aren't other available tables.
Overall, an okay sushi spot with fresh...
Read moreMy wife and I just had a scrumptious lunch meal at this restaurant. In my opinion it is the best Japanese restaurant in Ottawa. Their beer menu is plentiful and so is their sake menu. We chose Tiger beer and Hakutsuru cold draft sake which are both among our favorites. Their food menu is very complete, it has all the forms of sushi you have ever heard about. I tried one of their new plate offerings called "White Tiger" and found it very very good. They don't put too much rice in their sushi rolls as I have experienced elsewhere and both their fish and vegetable products are nice and fresh. My wife had a veggie sushi called "Veggie Cultus" and she enjoyed it very much. Their restaurant ceiling is covered with an interesting form of noise cancelling material and their booths are separated by fresh pale wood structures which makes for a very comfortable atmosphere. To top it all off, the young Korean/Canadian lady who served us was the sweetest person you could ever meet. My congratulations to Mike the owner. 👏 He has created the perfect sweet spot for his most...
