Simply a wonderful experience to dine here! We (2A2C) went in for Father's day as we like to experience a variety of cuisines and the lovely ladies at the door were a perfect idea of what was to come. They were friendly with big smile and managed to get us in to the packed restaurant without a reservation (the stopped booking the day before and were only available for a limited number of walk-ins). As we walked up the stairs the bloom of spices and sizzles filled our senses! Turn up the salivary glands to ten! We had a wonderfully pleasant waiter come to greet us with a pitcher of water and answered a few questions we had about the menu, Because we were in a limited time we ordered right away. We ordered a Family platter for 6 (the mixed) with an add on of 2 Simit skewers and the Lamb shank (not the platter) and a sausage and cheese "pizza". Within moments we were diving into a delicious salad, creamy humus, fluffy toum, and a basket of pita bread. About 3 minutes later the pizza showed up. Bright powerfully flavoured suasage with a light crust topped with creamy cheese worked as a perfect opener for the meal. Then the show stopper hit the table. An overflowing platter of skewers, lamb, rice, veg, peppers, and a pita bread stuffed with a slightly spicy onion mixture was steaming and screaming eat me! Chicken tender, steak tender, simit and kofta well spiced and super flavourful, lamb was melt in your mouth, rice while a tiny bit oily was bursting with flavour. My wife ordered a turkish coffee and the kids a couple of juices. She said the coffee was exquisite and the juices were a nice bright flavour mix. Then to top it all off we ordered a couple of pieces of baklava and a Turkish ice cream which was delicately topped with crushed pistachios. A delectable finish to a delicious meal. Hidden treasures are a rarity and this is now on our must go to list. Put in on yours...you won't be disappointed!

I have visited this restaurant religiously for 5 years. Over the time I have seen their food and service degrade as they got more customer base. 8:30 pm est reservation. We were a party of 2 with my friend being 5 months pregnant and we were meeting after 5 months. Got the table at 8:50pm est and were settled in to order at 9 pm est. Food arrived at 9:33 pm EST. At 9:55 pm EST, the lady asked us to pay as their “ system wont allow to pay after 10 pm” We paid, no problem. As soon as we paid she said “do you want boxes to go” and I am like “no why, we are still working on it.” And she proceeded to say, “oh yeah its just that we close in 5 min. “ 😳 Within The span of 3 min she came twice and just rushed and did not even let us fill the boxes and took the dipping sauce and everything. I just left my box at the restaurant and we were out by 10:04 pm est. Forgot to mention, the food did not taste the same, it was super oily, rice and chicken both. The staff was running to close the restaurant at 10 pm est and it became so overwhelming that we just wanted to leave and never come back. Not to mention, I begged my friend to come all the way 30 kms to eat here! I NO LONGER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. Look for a restaurant that still holds to its value it had when it was still a small business. Please also notice. Their waiters and staff are always super unhappy and you will now see new people everytime. They used to have stable staff before. Please see the picture showing the time we got the food. The staff had all the opportunities to inform us about their CLOSING policy when they were seating us down. They did not because they damn well knew that customer would rather not dine in if they were going to be forced out or forced to eat an entire plate in 10 min.

My expectations for Pita Bell Kebab were high before even entering the restaurant. Not so much because of previous recommendations or their generally good reviews, but rather from the waft of charcoal emanating from a block away. I am a firm believer that a kebab will never taste equivalent when grilled over gas. Upon entering midday on a Tuesday, the restaurant was relatively busy, and my girlfriend and I were promptly ushered to a booth. We opted for an order consisting of salad, rice and a variety of kebabs. Despite not being the biggest fan we also opted for a singular order of kunefe for dessert. We didn't have to wait long for the salad to arrive. I'm used to regarding the salad at kebab establishments as an afterthought, but Pita Bell's version was tasty, with a garlicy and tangy sauce and a variety of fresh vegetables. Our kebabs arrived on a huge platter, served over rice, and accompanied by grilled tomatoes, onions and a chili pepper. Across the board the kebabs were delicious, tender and full of charred flavour. Accompanying rice was well spiced and the combination of flavours and textures made for a delicious meal. A Kunefe for dessert was solid, presented differently to the customary Lebanese method and not as doused in sugar syrup as I have become accustomed to. Overall whenever I’m in Ottawa and in the mood for grilled meats, I would not hesitate to return to Pita Bell.

This is a wonderful take on its traditional taste even for Western population. Really good rice comparable and authentic to its competitors of other fine cuisines. The meat cooking and taste is distinct as it stands out in flavor and taste. The added topping on each item served from salad to fries to rice to pita bread and other condiments gives an extra richness and class. The prices are wonderful as I got a high quality meal of a good portion with a great taste and overall satisfaction. There are meat pies that are not cheap but huge and different that is worth a try for certain. Pace urself as u won't finish a meat pie with a meal by urself just to compare the size of meat pie being a portion for one on its own. The place is always busy so understand the weight if you are dining in or ordered on the spot. The place is clean and also traditionally unique in its set up and the vibe and presentation in general. I have been to this location many times and I have tried many items. One problem was that the full chicken is difficult to cook and there was always small parts that did not cook well. This point is not to make this restaurant look bad ... they always tried their best or maybe I'm just picky. Overall I highly recommend this place. From the reviews you can tell that I'm not the only one who liked the food even if I'm picky.

Located on Carling Ave, this kabab restaurant is one of a kind: just by entering in, you’re outside of Canada. The traditional Turkish decor, starting with the bronze plates and wooden bowls, offers you an atmosphere of Turkey that invites you for one of their best cuisine in town: Pita Bell Kabab, a family-and-friends-oriented restaurant. As a start, for $6.99, this salad will change your way of tasting a real Fatoush Salad by its seasoning, fresh vegetables, and herbed pita bread. This dish is good for two people, but can also be your meal of the day. Drink free tea with it to digest well, so you can leave some room for the main dish, only available on Fridays and Saturdays for $18, the Iskender Kabab, a typical Turkish meal, charcoal grilled thin cut halal lamb mixed with square of pita bread topped with mild-spicy tomato and melted sheep butter sauce, persil and green chili, and yogurt on the side – see pictures. A must go place to enjoy home food made that you won’t even appreciate a real kabab elsewhere afterwards. Service is great, always welcoming with a smile, great food for a great price to eat-in or to go, and only Skip the Dishes can deliver their food to your location, but better to enter a new world by going there.

Found this place from an instagram review/ post. We almost turned around as it didn’t look like a “nicer” restaurant from the outside. A little unusual and quaint looking, very limited parking in the front. But we saw a parking space at the back and it was packed. A lot of people going into the restaurant and a lot of take out. So we decided to go in to check it out. Looks completely different inside, we were pleasantly surprised. There’s limited seating so we had a 40 minute wait and it was well worth it!! We ordered the platter and a spicy meat Pide. Good portion size, had our full! Reasonably priced and delicious. The rice was a little oily for my liking but was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The decor was very nice and warm but wouldn’t give it a dashing review because of limited seating. However, I don’t think I’ve seen so many people visiting a restaurant for take out and so crowded willing to wait. This speaks volumes for the delicious food. There was no compromise on the service even though it was so very busy! Bravo! A place to eat at more often and on the top of my list of recommended restaurants in Ottawa!
