Mama Rosa Pizzeria — Restaurant in Ottawa

Revised: they have been amazing since our first review..... nothing but love

We have ordered from Mama Rosa for over 4 years (3 - 5 times per month) and each time was through Skip the Dishes. Tonight will be our final time utilizing this restaurant. We placed an order, waited 1.5 hours and had to drive down to the restaurant to see what was happening because they were not answering the phones! When I got to the front desk, was told your order is ready and was the next one out the door for delivery, would I like to take it now .... so I paid for the food, delivery and tip only to pick up my own order... no excuses given, no apology, just blank looks.

Food was always amazing, delivery lad is amazing, but tonight was too much to swallow, pardon the pun.

All I wanted was communication and an answer to why the delay, but never got one.... all the best in the future, but you will no longer see...

I used to LOVE Mama Rosa's pizza. Their sauce was delicious dough was perfect and just the right amount of cheese. For a while during the pandemic we didn't eat any takeout. After a few months in to the pandemic we decided to finally order some takeout and we decided to go with our favorite pizza place - Mama Rosa. Unfortunately something had changed. The dough was very thin and cheese was barely present. We thought maybe we got it on a bad day. Nope, was just the same when ordered a second time. Because we've always adored this pizza, we thought we'd give it another shot and just order extra cheese. This was the final straw. I paid close to $40 for an xlarge plain pizza with extra cheese and we felt ripped off. There was barely the amount of cheese we'd get on it before and we paid WAY too much. I will never...

Decided to try this place out for the first time last night. I took advantage of one of their deals that was for pizza and wings and I also got some of their cheesey garlic bread. The pizza was not too bad, it was a little too greasy, the garlic bread was great, but the wings were dry and seemed over cooked. Plus they didn't get my order right. I asked for honey garlic and they gave me a tiny plastic thing of medium sauce. It was maybe good for 5 or 6 wings when it came with 15 wings. I was really not impressed. I also ordered 2 hours in advance and asked to come for 5:30. I can understand that it may be a busier time and I can accept it being a little late, but not by half an hour. I may decide to try this place again, but it won't...
