Noodle House 79 — Restaurant in Ottawa

Food quality from excellent to not as expected, depending on who cooked - Food served to customers are not the same as advertised. We eat at this restaurant once every few week. Yesterday, I and my son went there, ordering the weekkend special "Phở Gà Lòng Gà Trứng Non" for me and "Bún Gà Nướng" for my son. Since the one I order few weeks ago, they served without "Lòng Gà" (chicken intestines). At that time they apologized and gave me discount couponds to make up. This time I asked the waiter, he confirmed they had "Lòng Gà". When the food came, they served pig intestines (lòng heo) instead of chicken ones. I mentioned the fact to the waiter. He said he would report to the cook. However, the waitress, without looking at the leftover food on the table, assured that they are lòng gà (chicken intestines). She should be more aware of what was going on before saying anything that was not true (see attached picture of the dish during and after eating, see also picture of chicken intestines). The "bún gà nướng" my son ordered was not good as expected. The rice vermicelli was cook without properly drained (still very wet) - (bún luộc nhưng chưa ráo nước) and the chicken lacked the grilled tastes. He said he ate the same dish and it was excellent few weeks ago. The owner should know what are going on before starting to loose...

Wow, this is a little hidden gem! Everything was perfect. It was extremely clean and organized. Music was very quiet - just some acoustic covers of various hits. We were seated immediately, the menu was easy to understand, and our order was taken promptly.

Our food was brought out by the chefs. We both ordered combos, and we got our springrolls first. I don't know that I've ever tasted anything so good in my entire life. While enjoying, we were brought some bean sprouts, garnishing leaves, lime slices, hot peppers etc to be added to the pho we ordered.

As we finished our eggrolls, the pho was brought out to us. Impeccable timing! We both got beef, and it was so good. Genuinely some of the best broth I've ever had. I got a medium but couldn't finish it so I was given a to-go container.

Everything was cooked perfectly, the employees were professional, quiet, and efficient. All in all, if I could I'd give them 6 stars.

Note if you've never gone to this kind of place: when you're done eating, go right up to the cash at the back. They have some candies and fortune cookies there, too. They will eventually check on you, but the expectation is that you get up when you're...

Staffs are not very welcoming. When I got in and said table for 1 . Then a lady pointed at a table near the window. So I went and sat down. Then another staff came by and dropped a glass of water and a menu then walked away. Never said hi or smiled or even how are you? Very simple greeting right ? Then I ordered my large bowl of pho it’s was good ! Again server never came back to check if everything is ok ? After my meal I went to the counter to pay. When the staff saw me he just took the bill and put it on the counter and that’s it. Didn’t say anything… didn’t ask how was the meal . Just didn’t care at all . So the bill came up to $23 something and I left 15% tip on the bill. And still no facial expression even when you leave a tip. No thank you no NOTHING !!! I start wondering if the staff are getting any of the tips ? They all look so miserable there and I will never go back to eat there with this kind of attitude.
