Edit: Excellent experience. Would strongly recommend as a lunch spot. Service was excellent with complimentary tea. The server, Sylvain, was really nice and gave excellent service. He recommended the chicken vermicelli (v2) and it did not disappoint. Spice it up with a bit of additional chili oil! Their pork/shrimp special spring rolls are surprisingly good. Different, but in my opinion on par with golden palace (a tall order indeed), not as dense but juicier. Food was ready in under 10 minutes.

Also, definitely try the avocado shake!

Restaurant itself is relatively small, so a dinner rush might mean that you could have to wait for a table, but I cannot confirm this yet. Atmosphere is pretty standard with what you would expect from other pho restaurants. Today was not super busy for a Saturday, so I cant speak to how the kitchen fairs under pressure.

Went a second time. Service still excellent. They recognized me and threw in an extra rice wrap for free (that was really nice of them). Tried their bbq pork rice wraps with peanut sauce. Overall wraps were fresh tasting, and good portion size. Pork in the wrap was a little bit dry but was well seasoned and their peanut sauce was delicious and definitely made up for it. Also tried their pho with rare beef. Pretty standard in terms of presentation and quantity. The broth was really good though. Excellent value for the money.

Edit. Went a third time. Broth still really good. Rolls still good. Tried the Vietnamese ham. Delicious. Recommended.

Updated January 2019: what happened??? Where did this place go to? We went b4 xmas and a sign said they were closed for vacation. We came in the new year and it says pho bo ga1 is moving there now. Noooooo!!!!! All the other Vietnam pho places we tried which is 8 places are alll sub par.

Our old 2018 post: This is a favourite Pho place for us. We've frequented this little gem several dozen times over the past 9mths. And even on this 2018 Family Day this place can still out perform most Ottawa Pho Restaurants.The portions are perfect. The prices are realistic and the taste of all Pho soups are fantastic. Their bbq dishes are delicious. This is a family run business and they are very committed to provide authentic Vietnamese food. You can see it in the portions and presentation. A small hearty spicy brisket Pho is going for $7.50. Their small Bún bò Huế $7.50 was fantastic (much better than the one on Booth street which everyone raves about) this is the only restaurant where you will find authentic Vietnamese Spring Rolls $6.50 and Bánh cuốn which is a rice roll with meat and mushrooms $6 (see pics). We called in to place our take out order. Arrive 20 minutes later. Two simple soups that were on the menu as well as two spring rolls. Got to the restaurant to find our order was never taken nor prepared or placed. We had to write it down on the receipt paper for the waiter. Then the price was an issue as the person gave us two prices 42$ (if paid by cash) or 47$ (if paid with a credit card). We assumed the cost was $5.00 if paying by credit card instead of cash. Then the price changed from $42.00 to $43.00 if paying by cash. There was a huge lack of communication and understanding as to why 3 different amounts we're given. 1/2 hour later, we left without our order as it be âme too complicated. Sadly, due to poor customer service over the phone (and yes language barrier was an issue) and while there, we won't ever be returning. Our last experience was amazing foodwize as well as customer service. We're truly saddened.
