4 stars for the food, and 1 star for the service - 843 SOMERSET WEST
TLDR; DO NOT ENTER IF YOU SEE A WAITRESS WHO SEEMS LIKE SHE HATES WORKING.
Let's start off with the food, the food is good and the portions are also reasonable, however, the prices are over priced and some of the options are just not reasonable for the price it is being sold at.
NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT THE SERVICE,
I never knew a waitress could be so rude, and how a restaurant can still keep people who are that rude to work at their restaurant. If you see a young girl who looks like there's a giant stick up in her rear, then i strongly suggest you do not come to the restaurant, for the service will absolutely ruin your time there and the enjoyment of the food.
I don't know: what traumatizing event happened in her childhood, what happened during that day/week, or if she just hates working there and likes to ruin the business.
When we first entered, there was no greeting and she just pointed us to a table. Dropped the menu onto the table and left without any word, expression, or sign of happiness. I went up to the waitress and asked her if they had a washroom, and her response was "yes," I had troubles finding the washroom because the only washroom in there was a women's washroom. When we were done with our order, we made eye contact with the waitress and she just waited until I stopped making eye contact and then she took our order. Same thing happened, she took the order, and turned her back as fast as possible and went back to her phone. When our food came out, she put the bowls of food right in the corner of table, and left without saying any word, we were confused on which bowl was what. When we finished, and paid, she just took our money and then looked away, not even a "thank you" or a "bye."
Sorry for my rant, the food here is delicious, but the service just ruined my day. I really hope that waitress finds happiness...
Read moreAt first the waitress seated us at an uncleaned table, she only took one plate and left the rest. We were standing there waiting for her to finish it up. After 2 mins of standing, I asked to move to another table. We got two pho and one fish cake. Never ever in my life had pho served with no bean sprout. The moment she put down the side veggie I was shocked by how little the basil leaves were for two people and there’s no bean sprouts. Also, this’s my first time observing fish cake served with peanut sauce. Tbh this combination resulted in a weird taste that I would never wanna try it again. They got my pho order wrong, they gave me rare beef when I requested no rare. They took it back, cooked it and gave it to me again. For people who dont know, the meat in beef pho comes from different places of the beef. So when I said no rare it meant I didn’t want that type of meat. Thus, they completely messed up my order. That taste was average, neither bad nor good. Not to mention how greasy utensils were. When we asked for the bill, the waitress just looked up the menu and did the calculation on her phone. That seemed unprofessional for a restaurant I guess… On my way out, I got quite confused with the price but because we didn’t have the receipt so we were clueless. I looked it up online and wow $17 for a small pho soup is very expensive eh. Anyway, after doing my own calculations I still didn’t know how that server got the bill. I dont know how long you guys have been opened but there are lots of things needed to be worked on. Otherwise I don’t...
