I waited for more than an hour last time I was there - Employee called sick was the reason given. I went back .. waited .. my order was delayed for about 30 minutes .. no obvious reason.. TO MAKE IT EVEN WORSE .. I SAW KIDS QUEUING UP TO PICK UP A PIECE OF CHICKEN AFTER POSTING A GOOD COMMENT ONLINE THIS IS CORRUPTION BRIBING PEOPLE WITH A PIECE OF CHICKEN INSTEAD OF IMPROVING THEIR SERVICE YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME .. CHECK THE COMMENTS .. ALL ABOUT SAME TIME ... A SERIES OF FIVE STAR REALLY .. You can't make that up .. This manager should be fired .. I saw him asking the kid to edit his comments and make it better about the service ... Suddenly a place that is worth zero star . became 4 STAR .. Please spare this country of this utter disgrace .. get your acts correct and improve your service ... XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX OLDER COMMENTS This is one of the worse POPEYES I have been. The customer service is NIL. Their response to customer is as if they have been interrupted from their nap. Talk a lot behind the counters. And they manager was around.. clearly not bothered by their rude service. NO RIGOR in hygiene. Picking up food bare hands .. to prepare the sandwich .. That's what we wee .. Imagine behind the scene .. Hygiene clearly not Canadian standard. I asked to be freshly made - all popeyes I have been they wil lmake an effort to make it fresh even if I have to wait 20 minutes more I do not mind. In that case I was told it was fresh. I felt from there the tenders were cold .. told them. They insisted .. Nope. Coming home the tenders were moist .. falling apart and clearly NOT FRESH. STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE!!! these people should be taught that THIS IS CANADA!!! Give us back our CANADIAN SERVICE!! Popeyes is not cheap .. we make an effort to buy it by God's will .. THEY MADE IT A MESS!!!! I am back with my review and after reading ALL other reviews .. We should all agree that this place should be closed down .. no hygiene.. appalling customer service and food...
Not bad, but overall if I had a hunger for fried chicken there is another chain I would go to first.
I ordered one of their two piece combos. They asked which side(s) I would like. The counter person stopped themselves and said they have only two sides, biscuits and coleslaw...a person from the back corrected them and said "there was no more 'slaw left."
I paused for about 5-10 seconds to think and said thanks and joked that I guess I am going to be forced to make my own meal. Before I could walk away another staff, who I would think was the floor manager at the time piped up and told me they could give me 3 pieces for $8. I had thought they were making an exception for a customer as I thought the price for three pieces of chicken was more than fair. As I started writing this review I went to search for the available sides at Popeyes to make sure there wasn't another one that might have been available to me when I saw their published offer for three pieces for $8.
I took that offer and was happy as I left the restaurant. The staff was very friendly. Especially as I had thought the floor manager had made an exception for me since they were without the products that are listed, the sides. The staff was there, no slackers and all with a fun, laughing attitude.
I got home and the chicken was pretty good, still hot, but you tell it was still hot from the heat lamps and base. The skin while it tasted ok as opposed to the garbage at finger licken good which I have not had in 15 years at least was soft and had no more crispiness. The chicken was moist as well.
Again, not bad but I have been to another chain of fried chicken fast food that I think does it quite a bit better, a bit better taste and each time I have picked up and made my 6 min drive home the chicken has always arrived with some crisp. Not like just out of the fryer, but about as close to it as one could...
Read moreWhile waiting in line, I overheard a conversation at the front cash between an older male manager and a younger female employee. I tried not to focus on what was being said as it wasn't my business, however I overheard he manager completely belittling this girl, telling her she needs a doctor's note (which I guess I understand) at this point I had seated close by so I could still listen.. (ye ye I know, none of my business)...but it kinda disturbed me...first off 1. They have an office downstairs for a reason, if you have anything you need to discus with an employee that may put them to even the slightest amount of shame, it is to be done behind closed doors. If you can't bring her being the counter and into the work area because she is "too sick", then your doctors note is therefore obsolete. I was very disturbed when I heard the manager tell the young woman that she had an attitude problem when I had not heard her voice raise any higher than his had the whole time. (Did I mention this girl wasn't even in uniform?) I was even more disturbed when I watch the clearly sick young woman walk out the door and to the bus stop sobbing and crying...I approached her later on asking if she was alright and she was still crying....I didn't mention that I had heard everything. I didn't intervene. I just simply carried on however this is really bothering me now...because that manager needs representation for treating their employees as such...I know for a fact the employees will not say anything. I would rather just go to head office or call in to try and see who is above this manager "Solomon"...that guy had an attitude problem if I've...
