Worth A Visit! Chaat Papri: Delicious. Tandoori Chicken: yummy -. Fantastic Naan fresh and delicious. Best ones I’ve had so far in Ottawa. Butter chicken poutine is a hard pass. Lassi actually tasting of fruit and yogurt and not just excessive sweetness from canned mango purée. Also the best one I’ve had here. Server asks the spice level which is definitely a great experience for any cuisine where spice levels vary. Cons: For the price of tandoori chicken, the portion of side chutney was tiny. Barely enough for 1 person. Not including the cabbage under the chicken, it was missing any side salad (especially onions and lemon that normally accompanies tandoori dishes). It didn’t come with naan either. That was also extra. Butter Chicken Poutine: needs more smaller pieces of chicken instead of a few large chunks and more flavour in general. Will not get again.

Highly recommend, to all. Food is amazing, let’s start with that. Interior mostly unchanged from previous restaurant, lovely enough. Food amazing ((Very happy to be updating - music volume at interior mild, pleasant, THANK YOU! Outdoor volume also reduced, in my opinion unnecessary, far far nicer than before. It let me enjoy, instead of cower. Thank You!)) Am excited to try the tiffin take away soon Previouss and has been corrected: (((The volume of music being played kills the eat-in ambience, which is a shame because it’s otherwise warm. I wanted to unplug speakers the whole time.…And pumping the music to the outdoors parking area is just so very tacky, it adds no value and detracts from the overall enjoyment of amazing food. Fix that and this is a top spot for riverside south eating.)))

We tried their combo C that came with chicken pakora, rice and naan, butter chicken and lamb curry and two gulab jamuns. We chose the medium spice level but was a little disappointed that both curries were not spicy at all. They were flavourful however it would’ve been nice for the curry to have a kick since I enjoy spicy food. The lamb curry was my favourite. The lamb was super tender. The gulab jamuns were piping hot and tasted very good. So good that my partner devoured it before I could grab a picture. The portion size was worth it too and is definitely enough to feed two people and have some leftovers. Overall really enjoyed their food but next time I’d ask them to make my food extra, extra spicy.

So I have tried the new location three times by now and the good part is their food is fresh. I love the veg dish bhindi and that’s the only dish worth trying out of all the others I have had. I will elaborate my rational below

I think they make delicious food with lots of effort but they do not have the word “mild” spice or even “medium” for the food they serve. The first time I placed an Uber order and wrote mild spice but the food was super spicy. I ordered two fish dishes, two veg dish and all were super spicy except the bhindi. The next two times I ordered takeout because I wanted to ensure I speak to someone on the phone directly and instruct “mild” spice. Well tough luck there, they say yes to your “mild” spice request but nothing even close to mild is there. The third time I ordered I confronted the staff and asked if the spice level can really be mild or do they just nod and don’t care about the details. The new hire was upfront and said no it does not exist. However, her manager took over and goes yes we can do mild. The food was so spicy that we did not end up eating it.

To sum it up, if you love spice this place is a haven. However, if you want to go for low spicy and just flavour this place is not the...
