Shawarma Palace — Restaurant in Ottawa

So many wrong things! The platter size decreased They didn't follow instructions I called to complain and they act like it's my fault what happened. Terrible taste. Missing bread. My platter is full of potatoes and barely any chicken. This is NOT my first time ordering a chicken platter and ask them to please INSTEAD of putting the pickles & turnips inside, to please keep them separated from my salad because my kids will taste the juices from it. (Of course they didn't do it so I called and the cashier asked the guy in arabic which I understood everything, and he told her to tell me "everything that I ask on the side is am extra charge" I told her I don't want EXTRA turnips & pickles, I just want them ON THE SIDE. She insisted that they need to charge extra. I told her that why is there a tiny portion on the salad if they ALWAYS put the 2 corners of the platter full of salad.. she said that they're never done it like that, I insisted that this is not my first time ordering, I've ordered like 200 platters and I never get this little salad, they ON PURPOSE put garlic in the other corner of the platter so there is no more room for salad. I told her that the garlic usually comes on the side in a little container and she said that I should have asked for that on the instructions then I laughed and said "but I asked for the turnips h pickles on the side and you still didn't do that" lol these people are hilarious. No wonder why their reviews are terrible. The chicken is brown, with fat pieces and cut very small. I only got 2 pieces of bread instead of 4 and now I can't make my 4 kids their sandwiches.. you know what she said to me? You can come any time to pick up the 2 pieces of bread!! I said "ya right. I'm going to drive all the way there just for 2 pieces of bread. That's ok I will leave a bad Google review" So here I am. Avoid this place...

Terrible customer service here as mentioned by other patrons. My husband and I placed a pick-up order on the phone. I quickly looked online and looked at the menu seeing that the it was $45 for 4 people which I thought was an amazing deal. My husband ordered mixed meat for the platter and for 5 people. I will own up to not realizing that the picture of the menu that was taken was from 6 years ago (to be fair, I was hungry and pregnant so I wasn't playing the closest attention).

We go to pick-up the order and we're quoted something outrageous $100+. I asked if it was a mistake and they said "no, because you ordered the mix platter". Fine. I will own up to that as well. However, in the past whenever we have ordered pick-up orders, it has always been on the onus of the restaurant to tell you how much your meal will cost. We could have asked on the phone - but I have always had restaurants tell me how much they charged before I picked up..so my bad for pregnancy brain.

We started to have a disagreement with I assume the manager and he thought we were nuts for thinking over $100 was crazy especially because it's "Shawarma Palace". He made us feel like idiots and didn't own up to any fault but because we disagreed with him he offered a measly 10% off. We got home and ate right away, but the meat made my mouth so dry that I stopped eating it. Our hummus was also sour so we ended up getting rid of it. The lack of customer service was horrendous. I will happily make the drive and go to Mangos...

I wish to express my dissatisfaction with our recent delivered experience from Barrhaven location. The family platter for 4, which we ordered, did not align with the expected standards. In contrast to our prior experiences at similar establishments, the portions were notably small. Our anticipation of distinct, larger platters, for salads, side & veggies, and another for shawarma, rice, and potatoes was met with disappointment as each item arrived in regular-sized take-out containers.

Furthermore, despite specifying additional instructions for both chicken and beef shawarma in the order, only chicken was received. Chicken salad, priced at over $12, arrived in what seemed to be the smallest take-out container, it was definitely not worth the money!

It's noteworthy that we have previously visited your Bank Street location, where the portions were notably more generous. I am not sure what is going on with Barrhaven location!
