I visited Burger Priest, and this location is very new at the time of this writing. My experience was not exactly confidence inspiring, but it will not deter me from a second chance visit in the future, once it is established.
When I arrived, I was behind 1 customer, and the staff clearly knew I had not ordered yet. Once the customer was finished his order, I waited for 8 minutes before my existence was even acknowledged. At this time, he was the only other in person order for the location. There may have been online orders as well, but to not even be acknowledged for that long, was unacceptable.
I ordered my food, 4 burger meals, which came to $70 with a 15% tip. Tipping is part of the payment procedure. I received the food in 9 minutes.
The burgers were slightly undercooked, but not terribly so. The flavor of the beef patty is plain and unseasoned. The toppings were fresh, but simple, as I decided to go safe on the first visit. The French fries were middle of the road, and slightly damp. The milkshakes were also run of the mill. This meal (without shakes) can be had at A&W for half the cost. There was almost no discernible difference between our order and a Teen Burger combo.
All of this being said, their specialty burgers are not something available at other fast food restaurants, and I understand this. However, they are significantly more expensive.
In the end, as it currently stands, I am not sure this is a sustainable business model. As the cost for a meal for 4, with upscale burgers and shakes is approaching $100. The value is simply not...
Read moreThey were having a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal on their High Priest burger on UberEats so my dad and I decided to try it. Unfortunately, neither of us had a good experience.
It's clear that their High Priest burger is supposed to resemble the Big Mac but they claim the only difference is theirs is fresh and delicious. The ingredients are fresher, but I definitely would rather go to McDonalds than here.
When trying to trying to replicate such an iconic burger, missing key ingredients like a sesame seed bun and chopped onions is really disappointing. Since they didn't specifically say it's supposed to resemble a Big Mac, I won't knock off any point for this however I feel like the burger would of tasted a little bit better if they those were added.
The cheese, pickles and lettuce were fine and tasted fairly fresh however I did not feel the same about the meat. It did not taste fresh, it was overcooked, lacked a lot of flavor and ridiculously salty. My dog ended up having to help me finish the burger because the saltiness started to make it so difficult to eat.
I absolutely love sauces on my burger and when saying the burger will come with their "secret sauce", you'd expect to be able to taste it in the burger. Well, they did not put much sauce on the burger and you could barely taste it because of how salty the meat was.
I'd definitely give the burger a 1 star and would not recommend it to anyone but I'm giving them a 2 star because they have so many options on their menu and there's a chance there may be an item...
Read moreFood was great! Burgers were top - notch. Poutine was great. My daughter has the chili fries, they were great.
However - a few issues.
we placed our order online through their web site. When we arrived at the designated pick up time we realized there was a printer error at the restaurant so our order was not prepared. Frustrating, but these things happen.
when we punched in our order at the restaurant we could not reconcile the price on the register with the price paid online. Ordering in the store was much cheaper. On closer inspection we found that WHEN PURCHASING ONLINE THE SYSTEM ADDS $5 TO THE COST OF EACH BURGER PLACED IN THE SHOPPING CART. That's right. I then verified that this is the same behavior when buying through the app.
The manager gave me a gift card for $10 to make up the difference. While we're out the taxes, i worked out, I guess.
So - for a great burger experience, go to Burger Priest in person, place your order and dine in or verify your order before leaving.
Update: online ordering seems to be fixed. Burgers placed in cart are no longer more expensive than on the menu.
Further update: responded to owner/manager's suggestion to email them with case number, and have received...
