We really felt for the Bar Tender who was doing everything solo (bar tending, serving tables, busing food orders, etc.) on a Saturday afternoon. She tried her best. She was a busy busy queen bee! I applaud her effort. I wanted to order food but she'd taken my friend's food order (french fries), and before I knew it she was off. Tried to grab her attention, but unfortunately the thirsty gents at rail kept her busy. After dropping off the fries she flew away again. After 35 minutes and eating the DELICIOUS FRIES I gave up on food, knowing full well that it would probably be 30 minutes before I saw her again. Still tipped respectfully. Understaffing happens. I was designated driver that day, would of love to try one of the non-alcoholic cocktails but they were out of some of the ingredients. So, I chose the 0% Guinness. But only 2 non-alcoholic beers? Come on Royal Oak there are so many non-alcoholic craft...
Read moreI get that we're coming out or quarantine and things are tough, but everyone had to deal with the financial hardships and weird social landscape. So when I decide to spend my money at a patio and I'm greeted by a waiter giving who's short for no reason, it's not very enticing to return. It's not my fault you have limited patio space and people aren't keen to come out. Hate these "how to treat your waiters post covid" posts that are circulating too. Everyone had to deal with it, if you're going back to work just go back to normal and five friendly service. It's going to suck for a whole, but that's life. Forget the server's name, and I'm not looking for a witchhunt but I did not have a...
Read morePretty decent pub style food but the beer selection, for a place fancying itself an English pub, the beer selection is poor. The patio is quite nice though the view is of busy Blair Road. The haddock fish and chips is well executed though not unique in any way. They butter chicken is rich and tasty. There is nary a local beer, or otherwise craft option, on tap. Fine, this is an English pub, I suppose. But the English beers on tap total two. Don't worry, there is plenty of Coors light and about a dozen other Molson-Coors brands on tap. Same as every other chain...
