This is a cozy pub-like restaurant that only serves snacky foods. The dishes are designed as sharing plates or samplers. I tried 4 items, coconut prawns, cod cakes, tuna tartar, and brussel sprouts. The tuna was amazing. There's a creamy basil pesto as the base and blue corn chips to dip with. The basil dip has a mouth feel like creamy avocado is in it...but isn't. Additional chips will be required. The prawns come on a bed of rice, and we're delicious; I'd get this again and again. Cooked perfectly so that the shrimp were not at all rubbery. This is like a traditional Thai curry. The brussel sprouts were good but nothing special; but I am a sprout snob. The sprouts at Supply and Demand are much better. I didn't really taste the apple butter. Overall good but could be better if the sprouts were crunchy, or caramelized on one side. The cod cakes was yummy, but the standouts were the prawns and tuna. The other amazing feature is the GIN....so many options. I had a flight of gin, which included 4 types. My friend had a very dirty gin martini and said it was the best she'd ever had. I loved the pepper gin and the lemongrass gin. The atmosphere is quaint and has a British/Scottish pub feel. By 9pm the noise level jumps up to bar level. So if you're going to chat and hangout...get out before 9. Overall, loved this place, and I would highly recommend it. As a side note the staff are amazing and...
Read moreI am astounded that this place gets a 5-star rating?!? This might have been one of the worst meals I have ever had. I had the gnocchi with creme fraiche and uncooked cherry tomatoes. The gnocchi tasted like absolutely nothing. Like flour inside a crispy shell. I left my meal untouched after one bite. Could not bring myself to eat it. The crispy tofu was edible at best. It didn’t taste like it was fresh at all. The sauce was extremely starchy, like there was way too much corn flour, and you could taste it? The veggies were subpar. Just would not recommend.
Drinks: the cure, and NY Gin sour were fine. Although my glass had a faint smell of raw eggs…you know the one.
Ambiance: if youre an emo teen who still wants to listen to Blink 182 and Sum 41, and other pop rock 2000s acts, do your thing.
Staff was nice. But when I asked for recommendations, they couldn’t really answer why a meal was even good?! And I think thats how you know a restaurant is good…when they describe the food: texture, ingredients, freshness…they go on about it. I got a: its good, I have it for lunch sometimes. In any...

Visited during our weekend trip to Ottawa, and I wish I had something like this near me.
First off, the drinks. Thr33s Co. Snack Bar has a somewhat exclusive gin cocktail on tap, with delicious floral notes that have you ordering another sooner than you realize. And for $5.75, why not. Between rounds of those, we also tried a specialty gin and tonic that provided a fruity and sweet pit stop.
That being said, it's hard to find an affordable spot that has both good drinks and food. And yet, when we were ordering they had everything from gnocchi to octopus, punching far above any standards set for bar food. We ordered the gnocchi, which was light and crisp.
And to top it all off, we had some of the most genuine and kind service, with a waitress who intermittently checked in on us at just the right times, and was even open to briefly join in on our debate about The Giving Tree. Can't ask for much more than that.
All in all, everything slapped just the right way, and I hope I'll be able to return soon. If you haven't been yet, Thr33's will have...
