have been going to nicastro’s for years, by far the best spot in the Glebe for produce & the sandwiches are excellent value. with that being said, i’ve recently had two very poor experiences. first time i went in since their re-opening the young guy was wearing a high school ofsaa hoodie with no uniform & eating a sandwich with no mask on while i was waiting to be served. he did not respond when i said “how’re you, how’s it going” & barely said a word throughout the entire visit, with a quite miserable look on his face. a few days later i returned & he was once again was eating a sandwich without a mask on, & when i was served he added some sort of green vegetable rather than the extra pickled onion i requested. don’t normally leave google reviews but i feel as though this staff needs to be spoken to as he’s really tarnishing my experience at one of my favourite places...

I usually stop at their location on Wellington for a sandwich but I was in the glebe and decided to try this one. I won’t be back.

I ordered my sandwich that on the menu said it had specific toppings on it and ordered a couple other toppings. I waited over 20 minutes. The person serving me genuinely forgot about me and someone else noticed that my sandwich was about to burn on the panini press. When I opened it up, not only did it not have the extra toppings I ordered, but it didn’t even have the ones that are on the preset menu.

Terrible service, will not be back to this location. The only good thing about it is that the porchetta is genuinely...

I came in to grab some staples in cans, etc. I waited for a long time at the register while they served people buying deli meats and the other employee stocked shelves. When one of them came, after about 5 minutes, to ring in my purchases, he didn't offer to bag them for me and left them behind the plexiglass while I finished my transaction. I had to grab my purchases under the barrier and put them into my bag by myself. He didn't offer me my receipt and was rude to me as I gathered my own groceries and put them in my bag. I guess this is why I go to La Bottega. I'm never coming here again. Very...
