I work at a Tim Hortons myself and the Donuts are never like this. Especially the polar bear donut it just looks terrifying I don’t know what to say to be honest. I went to grab a steeped tea today and there were 4 employees behind the counter and 5 customers including me standing waiting to be served while the tall indian guy just walked around printing out paper from where we print out receipts and when a customer said why is the service so slow the employee gave him attitude and then the other indian girl taking the order was sooo slow she was asking people to “write down” their orders as she didn’t understand even though every customer was speaking in English and not some unknown language. Please change staff on counter and get someone who understands others better or even understands no offence and all but just because she was not able to work on her cash, she made 5 people’s order time and wait time turn into 25 minutes rather than just 5 minutes. I had to wait 8 minutes for my small steeped tea even though the time on a steeped tea would be 3 minutes and 6 seconds and re check as even when I make steeped tea for a customer I say 3 minutes and they get it within 3 minutes. This is terrible customer service. Employees showing attitude to customers. No one is going to come back and I HIGHLY do not recommend this Tim Hortons...
Read moreMy husband and I try with every effort to bring our own containers and mugs when we go to restaurants and coffee shops for take-aways, in an attempt to minimize the use of plastics containers and cups as much as possible. When I attempted to do that today, I was told they can't do that, they can make my ice cap using a plastic cup and then pour it into my mug, which is completely missing the point of saving the plastic cup.
One of the workers said "what's the point?" Well, the point is to minimize the use of plastics so that future generations can still have a somewhat decent planet to live on.
If this is a food safety issue, just know that we have called Health Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Ontario Food and Safety, and the Ottawa Food Inspector, all of whom told us they have no policies that would prevent a food place from using reusable containers brought in by the customer.
In addition, coffee shops like Bridgehead not only allow you to do that, they reward you for it.
So can Tim Hortons please get on with the times and change your rigid, lazy way of thinking? The planet and I will appreciate you for it.
P.S. If more people also went in with their own mugs, perhaps that will help push Tim Hortons in the right direction sooner...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Tim Hortons, anywhere in the world. I'm in Ottawa for work and, unfortunately, this area has a high presence of homelessness and theft. There are no bike racks or secure spots to lock a bicycle or scooter.
Today, the assistant manager refused me entry because I had my electric scooter with me—a $1,000 scooter that I usually bring inside with no issue. I come here every day and always tip the staff, but today was my last visit. I felt unfairly judged simply because I was wearing casual clothes—a t-shirt and shorts. Meanwhile, there were about 20 people visibly struggling with addiction right outside.
It’s disappointing to be treated this way as a loyal paying customer. I hope management takes notice, because I am not homeless—I just wanted a coffee and some...
