Can't say enough good things about their meat department, too bad other departments can't say the same. (1) deli counter WAY too high. I am a wheelchair and unless someone else gets their attention, i am left waiting for the clerk to notice me waving my arm and almost yelling "excue me", for 5 minutes. How about a counter bell or something that will get their attention. (2) why does the potato and macaroni salad, actually all the pre-packaged salads . . .have no "best before" date? Seems to me that that was LEGISLATED at one time. Damn if i can find the date. (3) Your regular cashier on the express lane, needs a better "attitude". She is surly, short with people, slams the phone down, and THROWS the merchandise into the customers bags, without a method to miticate damage. In fact, i have had to tell her many times, since the renovations, how to PACK THE DAMN SHOPPING BAG. I am certain she does not want to be there (at the express checkout). Could you PERMANENTLY move her please? (4) the "pizza"s" have also deteriorated over the last couple of months. At least the ones being sold "over the counter by "piece", and what good are those flimsy containers that are meant for "slices" of a ROUND pizza, when they are selling pizza SQUARES? Makes no more sense than a submarine with screen "hatches". IT IS NO DAMB GOOD. Hasn't anybody noticed before? Someone in authority is "sleep-walking" through the day or sitting on their thumbs. Either way, somebody better shake her awake. (6) Cars, etc. that face the entrance, when parked. Run their cars too far over the raised "walkway". AGAIN, it seems that i must point out, i am in a wheelchair, and if the cars BLOCK that path, i have to turn around, trying not to fall off the path, then return to the sidewalk at the entrance and use the same lane as the cars. VERY VERY POORLY PLANNED. The architect, if you used one, should be fired. (7) your freah vegetables, are not very fresh. Most times, the tomato's are either hard as a rock, or mush. Others are dried out, limp, and seldom appealing, your staff does have access to a "hose" at the counter. Why are they NOT USING IT?
Once apon a time, i would have shrugged my shoulders and found someplace else to shop. Now, disabled, older, without a car and wondering what the heck happened to COMMON SENSE, my options for shopping for food, is VERY LIMITED. WAKE UP PEOPLE. Your job could be gone tomorrow and you could be wondering, what the...
Read moreWhat a joke it is shopping at this Metro store on Beechwood! You have to check your receipt every time because they're known to overcharge me. Today, they charged me twice for the same item, and when I brought it to the cashier's attention, he sent me to customer service. The employee in customer service who could hardly speak English says I must go back to the cashier to deal with it. No. He sent me to you. He proceeds to go through all of my food, without reading what is being overcharged on the receipt or the description of what was overcharged. All my frozen foods and other foods on the floor, melting, while he spends at least ten minutes doing nothing but moving my groceries around but not really looking at what he's doing. He decides it's a gluten free pizza that was overcharged because it was the same price as what I was overcharged for. But as I looked through my groceries, I realized it was not the pizza, which was not GF. He doesn't care and then another person tries to find what they overcharged me for. This took about 15 minutes to get straightened out between the 3 of these employees. And not one apology from the two in customer service. What a useless place to shop. Save yourself time, money and frustration and stick with Farm Boy or Loblaws. At least Farm Boy and Loblaws have always shown me pleasant and helpful customer service from people who are well-trained and take pride...
Read moreWorst ever..i get two jars of jam product and try to use the auto check out but it doesn't recognize one. a clerk fixes it but then the machine doesn't recognize the first one. she comes back but it does the same thing. i give up and leave. couple days later i try again thinking maybe it was just that machine or just that product. the website indicates they have organic red potatoes but a clerk in the food section says 'we rarely get organic potatoes.' sure enough, they have yellow but not red organic. i try to get jam again but run into the same problem with the check out machines. i go to the cashiers thinking that will work. clerk says 'please wait till i clean the counter' to put my two items on the conveyor belt(remember that!). she scans my item. nope. same problem. the cashier gets someone to do a price check but then later announces 'cancel grocery' we wait and see the checker doing something else way over yonder. 'did you get it' the cashier asks. nope. she comes over and takes the item to find the price. she comes back 'there's no price' she says-yes, there is i saw it. she goes to the office to get the price. 7.99 she says. nope. price tag said 7.19. i don't even bother to argue. cashier says' credit or debit'? i say-'cash'. ...
