All the reviews here on Google seem so great but I had a bad experience at that bakery. I walked in there for the first time with the intention of trying their Manakeeshes and reviewing it online. I ordered 3 different types to try: the Plain Zatar, the Veggie and the spinach manakeesh. The owner overcharged me- 3$ for the zatar instead of 2, 4$ for the spinach instead of $2.50. When i asked him why he charged me more he got defensive and started arguing with me that I ordered the ones with cheese. As a person who is lactose intolerant I made sure none of my orders had cheese and indeed none of them did! And since he took the time to heat and wrap each and every one of them individually, i doubt he would make that kind of mistake. The worse part is that all 3 pies where terrible and tasteless. The zartar was stiff and dry. It tasted as it had been sitting in that window since the night before (although it was 11 am when i purchased it, thinking it was freshly baked!) The veggie was a bunch of raw bell peppers on raw uncooked dough with canned tomato paste.. disgusting! The spinach was plain and bland and boring. Nothing like the Manakeesh i remember eating at my Lebanese friend's house! All and all pretty disappointed not only by the way I was treated but by the bad quality...
Read moreI was SHOCKED when I found a piece of metal inside one of their pies. It wasn’t just in the packaging or something I could’ve seen beforehand. It was actually baked into the pie and I only noticed once I started chewing and felt it. I could’ve easily swallowed it and gotten seriously hurt.
I called the restaurant right away and they told me it was probably a stapler from the packaging. That didn’t even make sense because the metal was inside the dough, but they kept forcing that it was my fault? They told me the owner would call me back, but I never heard from anyone again.
This whole thing was disgusting and honestly pretty scary. I spent money on food for my family and I that could’ve sent me to the hospital, and no one at the place seemed to really care. Not worth the risk and an all around...
Read moreTerrible customer service. I was so deeply disappointed by my experience at the restaurant that I can confidently say I will never return, even if they were to offer a meal for free. The combination of a malfunctioning payment system (it's no big deal when that happens occasionally) and the staff's inappropriate behavior (this was thr very bad part of the story) left a lasting negative impression. It's disheartening when a dining experience goes so wrong, and it's a testament to the importance of good customer service.
