TLDR/ don't eat here, spoiled chicken used in butter chicken from more than one person Edit: i am sick now. Not even an hour later.
I had found good reviews on reddit from 3 months ago so i decided to give it a try but i should have looked at reviews from google first. I ordered butter chicken, dahl makhani, mix pickle and fish pakora.
First the mint chutney was delicious, but the fish pakora seemed undercooked as the batter was soggy but the fish was at least a bit flakey (as it should when cooked properly) but it still had a bit of an undercooked feel to it.
The mix pickle maybe wasn't what i was expecting but i cannot really describe what happened when i tried eating it, it was like spicy(hot) amd sour and salty but also chalked full of spices and not in a good way, it was overwhelming and no clear flavor, inedible unfortunately.
The dahl makhani was good, a bit salty and sweet but its okay!
Then theres the butter chicken and i hope im not going to be sick because i ate two or three pieces and alit of sauce before i noticed the texture was pretty weird and when i looked into a piece it was stringy/rubbery and discolored yellow brown instead of white as chicken should be. Then i read the review about someone else getting butter chicken made with spoiled meat and it definitely isn't fresh. 0/10 wouldn't eat here ever again based on that alone. Really disappointed to have ordered 60$ of food (was going to be my lunch tomorrow) and now I'm worry that I'm going to have...
Read moreWe try, desperately, to find the best and optimal butter chicken. But how? The paths before me spread like roots from an old tree, twisting away forlornly and always moving. The binding infinite lattice of indecision, holding, gripping me.. in the rolling sea of options for butter chicken, how does one see through the maze - to see verily the beautiful encrimsoned surface of that sauce; to breath in the spices that suffuse the senses; to taste that which the coats the tongue, activates the sensory receptors, and sends electrons on that familiar trajectory to the brain that makes you say ‘mmm yum!’?
Boy do I have good news for you pal, it’s Indian Affair Takeout to the RESCUE YEAHHH this is the best butter chicken you’ll ever eat in your life buddy, and I’m a butter chicken boy. Have it with rice and their delicious garlic naan and you’re in heaven. Easily the best Indian food in Ottawa, YES SIR! My only wish: if these exquisite curries would be served in aluminum rather than plastic containers.
I’m a butter chicken boy, and I approve this message. Also try the okra...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Indian affair takeout and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, the aroma of Indian spices was mesmerizing. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, offering helpful recommendations from the menu.
As for the food, it was nothing short of exceptional. The spices were perfectly balanced, and every dish was bursting with flavor. The butter chicken was creamy and rich, while the lamb curry was tender and full of depth. The naan was freshly baked and soft, and the biryani was fragrant and delicious. I also appreciated the variety of vegetarian options, which were equally satisfying.
The quality of the ingredients was evident, and everything was cooked to perfection. I also loved the fact that they offer a great selection of authentic Indian beverages, including refreshing lassis and chai.
Overall, I highly recommend Indian affair takeout for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine in Canada. It’s the perfect spot for an Indian food .I'll definitely be...
