Zaytoun Pizza — Restaurant in Ottawa

Third time in a row that I've gotten food poisoning after ordering here.

First two times could've been coincidences, because I had other food during the day, and the leftovers didn't do anything to me.

This time I made absolutely sure that my order from Zaytoun's was the only thing I ate recently. Just like the first two times, I ended up with extreme runs, and a cramping painful stomach, alongside bubbly guts. The burgers seem fine as I can eat them a day later with no issues, but the chicken in the club sandwich seems to be off, or improperly handled. Like clockwork, within 12 hours symptoms start. And the same ones all 3 times.

UPDATE: Altering this review to one star, and making a note to never order chicken here again. The owner has replied to this review with an accusation that, supposedly, they've determined that the food poisoning was a personal issue by reading my reviews of other locations. Interestingly, none of my reviews of any other restaurant or food service have any mention of any kind of food poisoning or sickness. They've then had the gall to say that since they've determined it's a personal issue, I shouldn't review restaurants that give me food poisoning.

As for your requested "details", I've ordered delivery approximately 3 times in the last 3 weeks, with the most recent one being about 10 hours before the original review was posted. I was able to eat a leftover refrigerated hamburger from the order each time without issue, but each time I got food poisoning about 8-12 hours after eating the club sandwich, and nothing else.

Thank you for your response, but please do not try to dictate what other people are able to review, especially when you make things up about people to justify whether or not they should be allowed to review based on...

I ordered pizza for a later time due to when guests were coming. Pizza was ordered for 8pm, the order said it would arrive at 8:15pm. Guests were coming for around 8pm so no big deal since we likely wouldnt be ready to eat before then anyways.

The pizzas arrived before 730pm. Lucky for them I had already arrived home. I told the driver they were super early and he mumbled something like "I have no idea", handed me the pizzas and left. The receipt even noted it was a delayed delivery.

I called the store to make sure I didnt get someone elses order by mistake and to let them know about the early delivery mistake.

The person on the phone said that its Friday and they are so busy that they can't give me a set time to deliver. That I get them when I get them essentially... almost laughing that someone would complain their pizza came fast.

So why would you allow people to order for a delayed delivery and how busy are you if you can pound out two pizzas and zip them over so fast.

All you had to tell me was that you didn't notice. Done, people make mistakes. Don't turn it around and make it seem like you did me a favor.

Well now my guests will be eating reheated pizza.. and their impression of this pizza place is based off an almost 1 hour old pizza. Good job team. I know their pizza is good, but my guests won't.

You don't pay $40 for two medium pizzas and expect bad service. Sad part is I pre tipped the driver. Never again.. sorry drivers. Lots of other choices in my area for comparable pizza. Based on the receipt I have ordered from there 18 times... guess thats all they are...

I decided to give this place another chance and the pizza has been very good and back to the quality it is. Owner is a kind person. So i updated my review to reflect the better quality.

Original Review:I use to be a regular customer spending over 80$ a week at Zautoun pizza on walkley. However i have completely stopped buying from here now. The quality has gone down im really not too sure if the owner is aware but my last 4 orders i ordered at night have been absolute food made for intoxicated people. The pizza dough lately has been different and watery. The chicken wings are soggy with really bad sauce on them. They really need to be cooked on a higher heat setting to make them crispy. The fries are absolutly raw whoever is cooking the cut fries you make you really need to learn how to cook the fries using a 3 stage cooking process or switch to good straight fries because those fries are absolutly disgusting please taste your food before you serve that to people. Finally the final thing that made me sick for 2 days was the trippin chicken sub i paid 18$ for a sub. What i got was a frozen chicken cutlett this chicken was not fresh instead it was the frozen disgusting chicken you get at walmart. Fried and sold to me in a sub. The chicken is like the fake chicken you get in the chicken nuggetts. This is very sad that you would even put that in a sub. The only decent thing i like here is the steak sub otherwise im not wasting my money here any more. To the owner. I really hope you look over your staff and food quality. As a longtime customer you have lost me i cannot continue to be ripped...
