Jazzmyns — Restaurant in Owen Sound

I had heard this place was pretty good, but our experience last night was far from that! We sat down, ordered our drinks and apps, fine. Ordered our food ... fine. We were the only other table in there until that point. Our apps came out - the garlic bread with cheese I don't think had any garlic, but was decent, the calamari was actually quite nice. Then it was the LONG wait for dinner. The table that came in after us was finishing their food when our dinner came out, and it didn't come out together even! 2 plates, then another and then a wait and then another. One had fries instead of the salad, but was easily fixed. No problem. My husbands Philly cheese steak was actually a slab of steak, open face style with thick melted cheese that had been left long enough that it was cold and rubbery. It was horrid and the last thing to come out of the kitchen. Our last drink wasn't delivered either. Obviously this place has gone down hill ... I was up half the night with a stomach ache and our friends weren't feeling so hot etiher (and the philly didn't get eaten - so that says something!) I wouldn't recommend...

Ordered 3 apps to share with my sister. The coconut shrimp was fully batter and fried. It wasn’t until we each popped one in our mouths & felt a hard crunch that we realized they left the tails on the shrimp. We had to pull apart each one to find the tails to take off, therefore removing any of the ‘coconut’ part so it was basically just plain shrimp. The onion rings were as thick as my thumb, undercooked, and so greasy. The spinach dip was alright, but the fried pitas were rock hard and almost black. Aside from the food not being good, our server was not very friendly. Didn’t look at us once while taking our order. We started our order off by saying “could we please get the….” Then once we were done saying our order she shortly responded “please.” As if implying we hadn’t already said please… which we did. She did that twice more to other guests we were with, although we were all very polite and used our manners. It made me anxious to even ask where the washrooms were, I just wanted to get out of there as our presence was clearly not welcomed. As a local I’ll never be back & will never recommend this...

On a Tuesday night we visited Owen Sound and liked the prospect of a jazzy themed restaurant with slightly upscale food. We walked in to see a cluster of bar flys. No live music and the piped in music wasn't even jazz. We opted to sit in the dining room. Not a quality dining room. We ordered yam chips and honey garlic wings as appetizers. Yam chips were overcooked and served with a blatantly obvious squeeze-bottle of tzatziki. The wings (10) were dry with a small cup of sauce on the side. They were served in under 10 minutes and we quickly realized that they were likely reheated from another order. Possibly from another day. Odd also was the fact they dimmed the already dim dining room lights just as we were served. I think they tried to mask things. We ate a couple of wings to figure things out but left immediately, leaving behind quite a bit of food. Full 15% to the waitress because none of this was her fault, and frankly should be saving for her future. We spent another 75 elsewhere and was...
