NOT REALLY WORTH THE PRICE. Just an honest experience. We heard positive reviews about this restaurant, so when our friends wanted to go out for dinner, we thought that we would try this place. When we walked in for reservations at 7pm, the restaurant was freezing inside. People were eating their dinners with their winter jackets on! A host or server came to our table in a timely manner, asked if we had ever been to the restaurant, which we replied no. He didn't welcome us, but instead pointed to the pile of menus on the table and said, " there are the menus!" LOL! He returned with regular luke warm tap water in a nice bottle and poured 1/4 glasses for all 4 of us, set the bottle down and left. Our server arrived to take drink and food orders. Drinks were pretty good. We ordered a plate of guacamole and chips while we waited. What a disappointment those were! An outrageous price for what you got and the presentation, 1/10! It was like someone took a hand full of chips out of a bag, put them on a plate and put a serving container of guacamole beside it. The plate was a flat silver tray, something you would use for pizza. Well, the chips and container would just slide all over the tray! For those of us who ordered tacos, the food was served on the same trays. Food came quickly, but wasn't the warmest. The tacos were slightly above average, 6-7/10. I was expecting more based on all the reviews. If you ordered the 3 pick your own, well that's all you got. 3 tacos. No side, no nothing. Just a flat silver tray, your 3 tacos, the tiniest slice of a lime wedge, and 2 of those chips. Presentation, 4-5/10. Then came the bill. I selected the 3 tacos and had 2 classic margaritas. My wife had the enchiladas and 1 drink. Our bills were split, which also included half the cost of the chips/guacamole. For my wife and I, $101.00!!! Plus the debit machine prompts tips starting at 18%. Our total was $119.00! There was no way our meal was worth that amount! I felt bad as I watched a young couple exit the restaurant. They were obviously on a date, and I couldn't help but think, If my bill was this expensive and I feel ripped off, what is that young couple feeling? I believe that you should feel 3 things after dinning at a restaurant, 1) you had a great time, including the atmosphere of the restaurant. 2) Your food was delicious, looked amazing and left you feeling satisfied. 3). You should feel like you got value for what you ate and experienced at the restaurant. This was our experience, perhaps yours was or could be different. I didn't think this restaurant deserved a 1 star review, but for all the hype, combined with our average dinning experience, I gave a 2...
Read moreThere wasn't a table for four available, so we ordered take out and waited at the picnic tables in the parking lot. We waited 45 minutes before the food was brought out and it was cold. The melted cheese had congealed and the meat was room temperature, so it appeared that our order was forgotten and had been sitting around. A couple who had arrived at the same time as us but had a reservation were seated, served, ate their food, paid the bill, and were leaving as our food was brought out. I wanted to give the place a chance to respond to my concerns instead of just leaving a negative review online, so I went and spoke to the guy who had taken our order and told him that I was disappointed to have waited so long and then get cold food. I pointed out that the box the tacos were in wasn't even warm and that the melted cheese was left so long it had hardened. He denied that the food was left out and insisted that it was fresh off the grill. This was clearly not the case, but he doubled down and asked if he could touch the food to check the temperature. Thinking he would feel the taco tortilla, I said it was okay. He shoved his thumb right into one of the tacos and said it was fine. There was sauce and filling on his thumb when he pulled it out, and he seemed to expect me to accept everything and go away to eat the tacos. "So this is up to your standards?" I asked, "And now you've put your thumb into one the tacos." He was obviously annoyed with me and responded by saying that he had asked if he could touch the food. He grabbed the box of tacos and walked toward the kitchen. I told him I didn't want to wait another 45 minutes and he said it wouldn't take that long because he would get them to bang out another order right away. I ended up standing there about 5 minutes, in front of the abandoned service station with people in line behind me. TLDR:Maybe this guy I dealt with was just having a bad night, but it ruined our experience and we wouldn't consider going back as a result. He didn't warn us that the wait time would be that long and when I checked in on our order he had no idea how long we had been waiting and gave the impression he was annoyed I was asking him how much longer before it was ready. He told me 10 minutes and it didn't come for another half hour. Just seemed pretty obvious they lost track of our order, but instead of apologising for the wait and cold food he argued that it wasn't cold and put his thumb in it and then insisted that I wait for a replacement. Four orders of 3 tacos cost $81 (see picture for portion size, with banana for reference). Not good value and brutal service. Would...
Read moreMy visit to Casero Kitchen Table left me with mixed feelings. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with a modern yet rustic vibe that makes for a pleasant dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, which added a nice touch to the evening. However, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by the restaurant’s reputation and price point. The menu features a range of Mexican dishes, with a focus on tacos and small plates. While the food was decent, it wasn’t exceptional. The flavors were solid but lacked the bold, vibrant punch I crave from Mexican cuisine. The tacos, for instance, were well-prepared with fresh ingredients, but they didn’t stand out compared to other local spots. I tried the tacos, and though they were tasty, they felt underwhelming for the price. Speaking of price, Casero is undeniably on the pricier side. The portions are noticeably small, which made the cost feel unjustified. For example, two tacos and a side set me back more than I’d typically spend at other Mexican restaurants where the servings are heartier and the flavors more memorable. It’s hard to shake the feeling that you’re paying a premium for the trendy atmosphere rather than the food itself. Overall, Casero Kitchen Table is worth a one-time visit if you’re curious or in the area, but it’s not a place I’d rush back to. There are better options for tacos and Mexican food elsewhere that offer more generous portions and bolder flavors for a fraction of the price. If you’re looking for a special occasion spot, this might work, but for everyday dining, it doesn’t quite...
