Tonight was the first and last time I'll be ordering from Pizza Delight in Penetanguishene. I ordered (online for delivery) a mix 'n match deal, each item being priced at $8.99 and thought it would offer a good variety of foods. Upon delivery, I received 4/5 of my order (my first point of regret). Realizing my family sized pasta salad was missing, I called the restaurant. The woman who answered the phone began coughing and hacking (my second point of regret). She told me they don't sell pasta salad with the mix n' match deal. My response of course, "that's what I paid for, so....". I double-checked my receipt - (not the one shown in the photo - the online breakdown I didn't get a screenshot of) and there it was; $8.99 for a family sized pasta salad. She asked if I would like it to be delivered or store credit; I said I would prefer it to be delivered. Later on, she called back and ended up leaving a voicemail; they didn't have any pasta salad, so she added a $9.00 credit to my account for my next order. If I had any problems, I could call back and talk to 'man's name'. While all of this was happening we dug into what was delivered and upon opening the pizza discovered what you see pictured below. Apparently the crust was soooo paper thin, it was basically falling apart and certainly didn't look appetizing. Needless to say, nobody ate that part of the pizza. (I did mention this to the lady on the phone during our discussion about the missing pasta salad, and she did not offer to send another pizza along with the pasta salad, or offer a refund/credit. She basically ignored my comment about the pizza.)
At this point, I didn't want a store credit as I DO NOT plan on returning - no thank you! So, I call to have them refund the $9.00 item I did not receive to my credit card instead of accepting the store credit. I was told "in store cash-back only". The lady who answered the phone this time had a bit of an accent but was easy to understand, and in the background, I could hear her speaking to a man - whom I thought might be the man the previous lady referred me to in her voicemail. I can hear her saying to the man, "a lady is on the phone asking about a credit" - he says "what" - she says "credit" - he says "burger?!" She says "no" (repeat this twice), she says "a $9.00 credit" - he says "ooohhh, a credit. She wants a credit?" At this point, I ask, "can I speak with - 'the man's name from the voicemail referral'. THEN, SHE ASKED THE MAN HIS NAME...she did not know his name. Why doesn't she know his name? Why is there such a language barrier? I certainly have questions and concerns about what's really happening behind closed doors at this establishment. Spend your money elsewhere! There are far better pizza...
Read moreReally poor customer service, delivered our food to wrong address and didn't call to let us know, called resturaunt hour and 10 mins after placing order to have them tell us they delivered our food elsewhere. We said that's fine, can you remake the food and send it to the correct address asap, which they did. Pizza arrived in 30mins, and was unfortunately undercooked and paper thin, and our wings were cold & soggy (clearly not freshly made)
We called to let them know how disappointed we were with the food asking for a refund, the person on the phone stated it was his first day and he didn't know how to, and that he would speak with the owner. I agreed as I felt this was fair for the inconvenience and poor quality of food.
I never received a call back, and decided to call in myself, owner was quite short and sounded frustrated with me on phone and said that I'd need to come into store if I want a refund. I went in to get said refund, owner asked what I ordered, I tried telling him and he placed $26.00 on the counter in front of me, I informed him that I paid $52.00 for my order, not 26 as I ordered wings as well as pizza. He was quite exasperated with my request and said "well I bet you ate it all anyway" I informed him that we did not eat the food as it was terrible and undercooked and he begrudgingly gave me 50.00 in change, arguing that "I don't do refunds on the machine" when I told him we paid debit.
Super frustrated with the lack of customer service and respect shown by the owner when their service was poor, I've eaten here before and had no issue, so I'm very disappointed with how this...
Read moreOur experience at Pizza Delight was poised to be nothing but positive earlier this week. My wife and I had snuck away without the kids for a couple hours and figured a tasty pizza in the park could be a nice way to hang out. We make a point of trying all the pizza places in our area and we knew Pizza Delight has some donair abomination that looked fantastic! We went in and our initial experience was fantastic. The woman working the counter was kind, attentive, and seemed engaged as we spoke to her. Upon ordering she said that things should be no more than 20 minutes…perfect! About 20 minutes later we returned and I gave my name, to which a man behind the counter responded “oh that’ll be about 20-30 more minutes.” We were blown away. We’d already waited 20 minutes, which was fine, but as parents we were on a time crunch and now our pizza was going to take a total of 40-50 minutes to be made when we had been told “about 20 minutes.” Apparently something happened between the time we ordered the pizza and the time anyone brought it back to be cooked. We were visibly frustrated and were given two extra root beers for our troubles but the whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths. As a chain that doesn’t have a lot of locations in our area we were so hopeful for a positive experience and we’re let down by this. With all of this said, Pizza Delight still gets a 3 star rating because holy crap…that pizza was a beast. Just would have been much nicer if we didn’t wait longer than you’d wait for food at a decent sit down restaurant...
