Capra Toro — Restaurant in Peterborough

A group of friends and I recently celebrated my birthday here and we shared a meal together called the "Tour of Italy" 🍝🍷for 4-6 people which I think is the Greatest option to restaurant goers since sliced bread! It was easily THE BEST group restaurant dining experience I've had, Thank you Capra Toro Team! You created an atmosphere to experience a bit of La Familia!

The service team were excellent, upbeat and pleasant. Communication was good as there were some details I wanted to request ahead of time (accommodating additional guests and one gluten free pasta option). Our server was welcoming, attentive and was one step ahead of our tables needs throughout the evening.

The quality of food surpassed the good memories I already had of it before, and my friends flipped over the house made focaccia bread, the marinara sauce, caeser salad, meatballs, sausage, chicken parm and pasta.

We shared a piece of complimentary Birthday cake 🍰 and it was simply delicious! Two layer vanilla, icing in middle, berry 🍓 on top. Chefs kiss 👌

Authentic Italian cuisine! Everything from their home made sauce to their thick, light and crispy focaccia just swept me off my feet and dropped me in an Italian paradise in the middle of Peterborough!

I am lactose intolerant and they were very happy to accommodate my dietary restrictions and provide food that tasted heavenly! Usually I have to acknowledge that the dairy free alternatives will taste lacklustre and disappointing but here I felt like my meal looked and tasted just as good if not better than what everyone else got!!!

The staff here are unbelievably friendly and helpful as well as being very knowledgeable about their menu! This kind of top quality service just makes you feel so special and so welcomed and just adds to the unique experience Capra Toro offers.

We supported this place with frequent take-out and even dining-in throughout the pandemic and the multiple shutdowns they endured, but lately they haven’t met their usual standard.

I ordered take-out tonight for pick up at 6:30. I’ve done this a few times over the last year.

Tonight I had to stand in line behind multiple people, including those waiting to be sat for their reservations and those looking for last-minute tables. You’d hope they have two lines, one for take-out and one for dining in—but they don’t.

To make matters worse, after I spoke to the staff at the front they brought out two separate take-out orders for people who came in after me AND THEN claimed they “lost” my order and had to make it on the spot. I don’t know, something about their system turning on and off. Seems bizarre, since the staff at the front knew my name for the order when I first spoke to them, and didn’t have to ask what I had ordered.

I didn’t walk out of the front until nearly 30 mins after I arrived. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized they forgot half of my order, which I paid for. Very...
