OMG (Oasis Mediterranean Grill) — Restaurant in Peterborough

This is my favourite place for take-out. Last night we got two chicken shawarma platters with rice and salad and I cannot tell you enough how out of this world delicious it was. The chicken had an amazing mix of soft juicy meat and crusty chewy bits. OMG - my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Then, of course their amazing homemade sauces. YES PLEASE. The rice had so much flavour and the bites with the meat and the salad and the rice all together - simply the best! Ok, now let's talk about the pickles - bomb! The pickled turnips - FIRE! Every single bite was followed by moans of happyness as I ate this amazing dish.

Now, my friends, the folks at OMG who put these delecatable dishes together can't go un-recognized. They are caring, generous, kind, friendly and funny people. I love spending the time at the counter chatting with them, watching them prepare this amazing food and that's what keeps me going back. OMG you are the best take-out in PTBO and if I can give you one comment it would be that you aren't open 24/7 so I can feed my crazy cravings any time of the day :) Thank you all and can't wait to...

I always leave this place feeling a compelling need to write the best review I can for OMG! The food is absolutely fantastic and I often find myself losing track of just how much and how fast I’m eating! This is a special phenomenon I’ve experienced very few other times wherein the flavours of the meal is so balanced that I’m completely engorged in eating that nothing else seems to matter quite as much as the experience of eating that particular dish. I always get the chicken shawarma platter, but that’s not to say that I haven’t had anything else on the menu. Everything I’ve had is absolutely fantastic and I can’t recommend this spot enough. The man who I believe is an owner always remembers me, I keep forgetting to get his name, but he is such a pleasant person who just wants to deliver the best food that he can make! Oasis Mediterranean Grill is a newcomer to the downtown restaurant scene but has quickly established itself as the #1 Persian food joint in the area.

The food is excellent, fresh, and expertly prepared.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the food they are cooking. The owner is generally behind the counter and has always been in a good mood.

Portion sizes are excellent and the price reflects the amount of food you get. Some people may be put off by the prices if they don't actually see the amount of food they get.

My go to meal is called "On the Rocks" and is excellent on a bed of freshly made fries or rice.

OMG only loses one star because it's usually stifling hot (winter or summer) and the prices are a tad too high. I, and likely others, would probably trade a slightly smaller portion with a slightly lower price tag.
