Delicious Went there while having a rough mental health day. Was lured in by the chalkboard sign advertising a special that sounded super good.
Service: It was super super busy in there! Poor servers. They were all running around like mad. I liked my server. They where wearing a basketball hat and had good vibes. Very helpful and kept checking in with me. I noticed they kept going back to their other tables and showed so much care and attention. A real super star!
Some people came in who where rude and I over heard the chef say “if they don’t treat you well kick them out” to the server which 🙏 king slay ✨that’s a good attitude.
Service 5/5
Food: Sandwich was good. Not spectacular but I think that depends on my personal taste. The ingredients where really fresh and they had so many different sandwich options. I feel like you could find your favourite sandwich there by just trying a couple options. I don’t think you would ever get bored either.
The soup though! Now that was out of this world. It’s a 🇺🇦 beet soup that was apparently a recipe from the previous owners grandmother. Oh boy you can really tell. I can’t express how good it was. If you like earthy tastes with a taste of pepper it’s perfect. They also have other soups for a soups of the day if you don’t like beets. It also seems like they have pre made portions you can take home. For sure going to take advantage of that during the winter when I need a pick up.
Food: 5/5
Atmosphere: Not really my vibe. A little to much for my sensory issues. To much going on. I really like all the unique salt and pepper shakes though hahah. It’s funny that’s what I look for now when trying a new diner. If they have a bunch of unique salt and pepper shakers you know that you are going to have something good.
Overall I am giving them a very high score and will be back. For sure going to bring my family there when they visit . It’s a perfect spot for group outings because I truly believe everyone no matter the dietary restrictions or tastes could find...
Read moreWe did the take out / catering option for 2 trays of sandwiches. When I called in, the person taking the order was not friendly at all and seemed annoyed when I asked if we could have all meat sandwhiches (no egg / veggie / vegan) as that's normally what isn't included for catering, but that they could alter it.
When my dad picked up the order, he said the employee was also rude and short to him... When we got the trays home, they did not include all meat sandwiches like I had specificallly asked, and had the egg, veggie and vegan included... All the sandwiches were very flat, not a lot of toppings or big stack of meat. I was surprised after hearing so many good reviews on their food, it was a let down.
The sandwhiches were still good, just very underwelming, and annoyed that they didn't in fact follow our order? Which I had spoke to a friend and they had the same thing happen to them for take out with them not following what they ordered...
Not sure if the service and food is better to dine in vs take out maybe? Would love to try it again and see, but so far not a great...
Read moreMy husband loves a good sandwich so we went based on the high reviews. Sadly, the sandwiches didn't meet the high ratings nor was the service great. The server never came back to check on us if we needed anything or if all was good with our sandwiches.
I got the Mack Attack - the cheese on it tasted like processed cheese, got half a pickle, and overall the sandwich lacked uniqueness. My husband got the Italian club. Again half a pickle and nothing that made it stand out.
AT $17-18 each for our sandwiches and a salad on the side with taxes it came to $44 dollars. The pricing of the sandwiches doesn't reflect what we got. The food maybe sourced locally and much of it prepared in house the overall taste, size, and pricing are much too high. And the service no better then going to a chain sandwich place like Mr Sub/ Subway/ Quizno's.
Very disappointed. We feel that our hard earned money was wasted as our Sam's Place experience was not special, the sandwiches and the...
