The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because our server was absolutely wonderful and the supervisor on shift really tried to rectify the hosts atrocious behaviour. The food also wasn't bad, except my husband found bones in his quesidilla but I guess that comes with the territory.
We had a table of 3 adults and 2 children. My mom entered the restaurant first and told the host how many we had and requested a highchair. When my partner and I got in with our children the host proceeded to take 2 tables that came in after us. My mom let her know we were ready to be seated as the rest of us were now in the restaurant to which the host replied "uhm.. yeah. So we need to wait for the rest of the party to get in.". Mom responded that we were all here and she was met with a sassy "well that's not what you said." Confused my mom reiterated "3 adults, 2 children". We were escorted to our half booth, half table. As we were taking our seats the host, as she walks away, under her breath goes "well I guess we just need a bigger restaurant." ...
Admittedly we are 3, overweight adults so perhaps we took this "personal". But what an odd thing to say?
It was brought up to the supervisor who spoke to her and we were told "that's not how she meant it. She meant that we need a bigger restaurant because it's so busy in here. We need more seating to get more people in" mind you... all 3-4 tables lined in the aisle behind us, and several around us were totally empty. She did not have to squish in between us or anyone when leaving our table. It was busy... but not that busy.
On the way out, she decided to shoot my mom the dirtiest look. Perhaps she felt she was wrongly accused but if that were me I would be absolutely mortified someone thought I meant such a thing and a dirty look is not what they would be getting from me...
This host has back of house attitude and should not be the person...

Also added peroxides as an app. When I got the meal there was no dressing,no gravy for the mashed. Ate the meal while it was hot and then called to log my complaint. Called toll free as that is how Oder was place. Explained story to person on line, said I needed to know which location it came from. Had to dig the receipt out of the garbage they first transferred me to the Tower Hill location in Peterborough as that is closest to my home, explained my story there only to be told.d didn’t come from them. They transferred me to Lansdowne location explained my story and was told the credit I would receive is for eat in or pick up only. I am a single person with disability difficulty walking and said order originally was delivery why couldn’t I get the credit for delivery. Then transferred to the manager who gave me a code I just needed to call store on Lansdowne and speak to manager but festive meal only available till end of month. Today I called, the Lansdowne st store now told I needed to place order over the phone let them know I have a code and they would contact the correct location. When I placed order they asked for code gave it to them was told not valid and they transferred me to store. Again repeated my situation was put on hold when I asked for manager and then told he is out and would get back to me in a day or 2 This is absolutely ludicrous. So paid $40 for a meal to get half of it and so one ho cares about all I went through. I understands humans make mistakes but I can’t even get someone to help me.

The host said that service is a little slow at the one booth that was open, but we were okay with that as we had a 4 yr. old grand daughter with us who needs extra room to move around. "Service being slow" was indeed an under statement, it was nearly 1/2 hr. before the waitress even came over to take our order. And more than 15 minutes after that before we got our drinks. And we had a now cranky and hungry 4 yr. old who hadn't been fed yet. But the kicker for me was when I saw people who got seated near us 1/2 HOUR after we were seated....get their dinner before we did.....and we had ordered 30 minutes before them. The waitress seen I was mad and came over, she blamed it on the kitchen. The food finally arrived 10 minutes after that.....So an hour and half to get dinner and 2 hours total in there. I'm in my 60's and have dined out all my life at restaurants. The service here was the worst. I will be going to north-end Swiss Chalet from now on. And I fully expect this review will get me a AI generated apology reply from Swiss Chalet that will be meaningless.
Update. Got a call from the manager of this Swiss Chalet, he apologized for what happened. He made a sincere effort to make thing right. They have shown that they care about customer satisfaction. So I've revised my rating of this restaurant due to this effort. Thank you...
