Where to begin? The BEST part of this experience was the pleasantness of the young man at the front desk. |I had booked the jacuzzi king suite for a one night stay then had to move the booking from Friday to Sunday night. No problem I was told. Booked and confrimed. Then called and told the main floor suite was already booked, so no probllem I was booked intot he second floor suite.|The next day I was called and informed there were plumbing issue with that jacuzzi and it was inoperable. No problem- I really would just like a bath the jacuzzi is not critical- a bath and a good bed for a good night sleep. another room with a tub please- toward the back where it is quiet.|The woman proclaimed she had 'lovely queen' near the front. I reiterated my preference for near the rear, but she insisted this was a lovely quite room. So foolishly I thought she must know her rooms!||I arrived checked in and discovered it had only a standing shower. |I went to the desk an reiterated my deep desire for a tub. (I shold have simply checked out and gon to the comfort in across the street- but time was limited and I thought- make do...|The front desk man proceeded to check every single queen beed on the main floor and not one of them had a tub only dorm type stranding showers.|Getting late for my evening commitment- I said ok I will live with this.|Bad decision.|Did I mention this lovely queen was about as far away as you could get from parking. Parking began halfway to the rear of the building so either way I would have to walk 1/2 the length of the building with my luggage- in the rain (yes it was raining).|Did I mention the room STANK of air freshener? oh yes it did.||When I returned from a long difficult evening hoping for a good night sleep before attending the gathering the next day, I pulled down the cover on the bed to discover they had put cheap egg carton foam over a mattress than would have been worn out over 20 years ago! (it was not close to midnight-not time to be packing up and changing digs.)||I found it impossible to sleep on that awful foam, removed it and the mattress was equally unbearable. |To make matters worse, the stench of the their "air freshener" was over powering- no problem I thought, I'll just run the fan for a bit and clear the ir- BIG MISTAKE! the room was instantly filled with the stench of pungent old cigarette smoke and to make matters worse to have any heat in the room at all that unit had to run.|They have been renovating and whoever retrofitted the bathrooms set the toilet roll behind where you are sitting when on the toilet necessitating having to stand to reach the paper.|The workmanship on the bathroom wallpaper was lso hoddy. |Oh and this "quiet room" near the front? was directly opposite a gas station and all night long trucks and dumpster and heavy vehicles rumbled in, dropped their loads, etc. guess it made little difference as I was truly just counting the hours till I could get up and leave.|As I told the front desk on check out- I have stayed in worse romms in my life- once before- only once- and that was in India and a $5/night hotel.|Regarding the issue of a tub, she claimed well they have no tubs in the kings rooms- and apparently none in the quuen either for I was in a queen and the desk cleark checked every other queen onthe floor!|They did refund my money for the room but nothing, frankly, could make up for that appallingly bad experience. |I feel very bad for the staff. On checking in there was woman we cold name "KAREN abusing the desk clerk for not having received a "double discount" on apparently the very same jacuzzi room I had initially booked! When she started yelling at him, I intervened suggesting it was not his fault and he deserved respect. I have a hunch hover the sytaff must face a lot of abuse for I too found my composure pressed after such a totally appalling experience. ||ok there were a couple pkgs of one cup coffee and 2 tea bags and the fridge worked. But rally what you want first and foremost in ahotel//motel is a clean quite room with a good bed and if advertised (and they do) a tub when you can relax and get clean.|This quality inn: it has some lipstck and rouge, but zero quality...
Read moreOn August 8th my son and I had the pleasure of staying here in room 233 and had the pleasure encounter with Jen. I called the hotel in a panic because I had booked a room at a different place but I don't have a credit card so the other place wouldn't let me check in. I understand rules are rules. I'm not from Peterborough and drove 3 hrs from Stratford to Peterborough as my daughter was there . Anyway I called Quality inn and Jen answered I explained my situation and I was almost in tears because I didn't know what I was going to do not being from Peterborough and now having no place to go . I told Jen that I don't have a credit card but had cash. She asked me what I had to put towards a room. She decided instead of talking on the phone to come down to the inn and talk to her which I did. She asked me what the other place was going to charge me so I told her. She told me what I would be paying there and took a cash deposit. Jen had absolutely no problem helping my son and I out. She didn't hesitate. She is a great judge of character and she knew that I was genuinely needing help and she didn't hesitate to help my son and I out! The next morning Jen even complimented on my sandals and said she liked them and I said my daughter just gave them to me. She responds with " Those weren't the same ones you had on when you first came " lol. Jen notices the little things. Jen, you should be very proud of yourself and the generosity and heart that you have . You saw that someone needed help and you didn't hesitate to help . You deserve a big pat on the back and the biggest high 5 ever!! If I wasn't 3hrs away I'd give you a high 5! Kudos to you! If I'm ever In Peterborough again and need a place to stay I will definitely be back especially if I get to have the pleasure encounter with Jen!!! Great customer service Jen keep doing what you do so well!!!! ❤️

Read moreWhen we showed up one of the guests in our group had been placed in a disgustingly smelly room and then it was situated between two rooms in which those residents were chain smokers. They sat in a chair right outside their room. Emmanuel got the room sprayed but didn’t solve the smoking issue. So he then had our guest moved to another room. We were about 3-4 rooms down from the cigarette smoke and pot. We noted that at the front reception there is a no smoking sign on any property. You have a designated area up front which I saw a few guests use. The area infront of 114 and 118 were disgusting. Copious amounts of cigarette butts. No guest should have to smell the smoke. There is a by law in Peterborough that smoking has to be 90 m from a common area which in this case includes our rooms. You need to do a better job at monitoring and taking action on the smoking. Most people won’t complain because they fear retribution on their vehicles. On that note your bathrooms were very well kept, clean and large. The beds and room are showing their age. Breakfast was very good and the staff working the breakfast area were so helpful and accommodating. As was Emmanuel. He had at least 8 people in a line up and showed patience to our concerns. On a side note our key cards didn’t work the morning we were leaving. Ended up being the battery in the lock. Front desk young man looked after opening our room up for us so we could get our belongings and check out. As well one of the guests in our party lost their wallet. A guest turned it in and the guests wallet was returned by Emmanuel. Nothing was missing. The guest was...
