The Food Chronicles: The(Double)Dirty Burger w/Dirty Fries Date: November 1st, 2023 Weather: Cloudy, 13°, Windy I found myself sitting in a study hall after hitting the gym craving a burger, but I wanted a good one, no fast food burger, one made by someone who knows what they're doing. As I scrolled through Skip The Dishes, I stumbled upon this place. Piqued with curiosity, I went through the menu and decided that I had to order the burger that was named after the Restaurant. Fast forward almost an hour, I found myself waiting impatiently from my order. Finally I had received the notification that my order had arrived. My friend and I, who order the same thing as me, delightfully walked outside in order to pick up our food and then begin our walk across campus to our dorms. I decided, "hey lets eat these now, that way they don't get cold before we can eat them" little did I know this was going to be the defining moment of my day. We opened the bags, unwrapped the burgers and laid our eyes upon this perfectly sized burger with 2 beef patties, pickles, onions, lettuce, cheese and what was referred to as their "special house sauce" all in between 2 buns. The presentation of the burger was impeccable, even after the drive from the restaurant to the campus. As we raised the beautiful burger to our mouths and took our first bite, The clouds opened up, sun shinned down upon us just as our taste-buds were hit with an astonishing wave of amazing flavor. We finished our first bite and took a second, third, fourth and fifth bite all while not speaking a word, simply communication using various grunts and noises to express how amazing these burgers tasted. When we had finished the burger and were left with what felt like a whole in our lives, like maybe we wanted a second or maybe even a third burger, we opened the fries, I ripped open my bag like an animal, hungry for whatever other wonders this restaurant may have produced. As I grabbed a handful of what looked like sweet-potato fries I couldn't help but notice the exaptational portion size of these fries. I put the handful of fries to my mouth, and to my utter delight, found them not to be sweet-potato fires, but regular-cut fries, tossed in a mouth watering amount of spices. As I devoured these fries, just like I did the burger, my friend and I realized that this was probably the best thing we have ever eaten since arriving here in Peterborough. We urge every burger-loving individual in the Peterborough area to try this...

My self and two friends came here to eat after looking around and seeing many different and other options. We had come across Dirty Burger and WOW.... I was wondering if the right choice was made when deciding on a burger restaurant or many others.

First off the server AWESOME she connected with our table and was professional, helpful, funny, charming in a positive way. She went out of her way to answer a food allergy and even came up a solution that my friend enjoyed very much. The menu wasn't the largest but it had charm and the food items did sound appealing. A+ on server I can't remember her name I wasn't paying attention at that point.

Food portions I was stunned my friend ordered the wrap, in my head I was thinking med size NOPE it was big and stuffed full I was told it was really good and that's a good compliment. My other friend had the dirty lol and there spiced fries. Again good size fry portion they were not being sorry to say this "cheep on the fris". I had the dirty two patty and a poutine add on my friend with the wrap also had the poutine. First off MASSIVE this poutine is bigger then some places sell a large and this was just a up charge for the add on not a full price menu item. Gravy yep had good flavor there was enough to cover the massive Fri portion ( THANK YOU) real cheese curds not an over amount but enough I have no complaints on the amount of curds it's a bit above average I would say and again massive amount of fries they filled a big white bowl. The burgers were not the biggest, they didn't have the most toppings. They the burgers were done right. Flavor, texture and really the amount of meat is enough for a portion. It was a really good burger both myself and my friend said they did it right. Also cauliflower bites were ordered. They had an Asian flar to them with just a little heat not much nothing hot just a nice comfortable taste, it was tossed with peppers and other veg not much veg its more of garnish and it works. Thies are fried the longer they sit the more flavor is lost. Hot and fresh the cauliflower bits are very tasty. Portion size, food quality, manu price, amazing customer service = My best experience at a burger restaurant. You produce good products. During the summer at a friends house, we ordered from The Dirty Burger, and it was great food and was delivered fairly quickly, and I really enjoyed it! That's why my friends and I decided to go there today. We were the only ones at the restaurant at the time, and the waitress explained that they were short staffed so things may take a bit more time; which is totally understandable when you don't have enough staff on hand. After about 10 minutes we received our food menus and drink menu. We ordered our drinks and food and they left to put in our order. 30 minutes from ordering the food has gone by, we've seen more tables fill up and more patrons enter. By this time the waitress returns and apologized and wanted us to repeat our order (even though before she had written it down, so we were unsure how our order was forgotten), and we repeated our order and our drinks. Another 10 minutes passed and we were still without drinks or food of any kind. I went inside to explain that we still hadn't been served our drinks yet, and by this time if it was served earlier, we may have been asking for a second drink while we waited for our food; which of course would help them earn more money while making their customers happier. I explained that we wanted an update and our drinks; where I was told it would be another 5 to 10 minutes for the food. She came outside to ask us if we wanted our drinks (which I had just got inside 3 minutes before to tell her that we did), so we again explained that we wanted our drinks. We were given 2 cans, a couple glasses and 1 drink, when there were 6 drinks in total ordered. After another 5 minutes, and we were still waiting on 3 more drinks and food, my friend went inside and spoke with the manager. Once he came back out he explained that we were leaving, and that the manager would rather argue and explain that they were "doing their best" instead of just handing over the can of ginger ale and pouring the beer I was waiting for. At this point we grabbed our belongings and left to find another restaurant. The sad part is, we found another restaurant and were served our drinks within 3 minutes, the first thing that should have been done. It blows my mind that I even have to write this, it's the worst restaurant experience I've had...
