CHICK•N•JOY — Restaurant in Pickering

Today I stopped by to quench a craving for some decent fried chicken and gravy. Though It's fair to say I got a bit more than what I had been craving.

To get to the point: I rarely go to Chick-n-Joy these days because of a bad experience at some other locations. This particular location does have a main good report if I were to reference it, despite a few mis-haps. The girl who was working the counter today was of a kind and helpful manner. She admitted that her stock was dwindling with tiny pieces (we came in the dinner rush), and she compensated to give us some extra chicken and buttermilk biscuits. Bonus!

I'd recommend this location to anyone desiring some fairly good fried chicken. They don't ruin their chicken in salt or over-seasoning like most locations; or give you horrible fries like some. Even the gravy is good, and not soupy. Definitely a good experience, even for a...

I bought chicken, fries and biscuits for my family. The fries and gravy were good, but the chicken was spoiled. It had a bad smell to it. It almost seemed as though the chicken was spoiled before they cooked it. There were a few good pieces but almost half of it was spoiled. I returned the remaining pieces but only got a refund for the pieces I returned. In good faith, I felt they should have returned all of the chicken, especially since one of my family members got sick and started throwing up after she ate the chicken. I also submitted a complaint to the head office but received no response.

I ordered a two piece chicken dinner tonight and had to wait around 20 minutes considering there was one or two people working. The woman seemed swamped with online orders as well as walk-ins. Though I wasn't too happy with the wait, the food that I received was absolutely cooked to perfection!!!! Probably the best Chick n Joy I have ever eaten.
