St. Louis Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Pickering

Where do I start, my wife, our friends and I went out to eat here Saturday evening. When we got to the front door inside there was a wait at the door where we waited to be seated as there was a party of six ahead of us waiting as well. That party of six was sat down near the back patio area and my wife and my friends wife were sat right near within 5 mins after them. I wanted to note that if guest are sat down and plan to order food guest shouldn't have to ask for cutlery, we were told side plates and cutlery dont come out before the food which to me made no sense especially with how slow the service was. We placed an order for two cocktail drinks and a pitcher of Heineken, once placed it then took about 15 - 20 mins for it to come as they only had one bartender working on a saturday evening but to my observation she looked like she didnt know the menu for drinks off the top of her head. If this was the case then I would've made sure as management or owner to have an more experienced bartender working along side her to make sure drinks are made in a timely manner. Once they came with our drinks we proceeded to place our orders for apps and mains seeing that drunks took a long time. We waited over 30 minutes for the food to come, I dont know how their system is but if apps are ordered then that's what should be sent out first to start like most restaurants would do unless told otherwise by guests. Our friends husbands food came first which was ribs and fries and the three of us had to wait nearly 20 minutes for our food which by then his food was nearly done. If guest come to dine in this is not acceptable at all. I then asked to speak with the manager on duty but was informed he was off but the owner was present, so I requested to speak with him cause our service wasn't good at all nor was there any communication of POS system not sending order to the kitchen which if it was the case we should've had been informed. As that party of six all their food came out all at once and within a short period of time after they got seated. We waited about 15 minutes for the owner to come out, we he eventually did the server Mercy was very professional, apologetic and did most of the speaking while it should've been the owner taking accountability for running that business and shift that evening. To me it seemed like the staff had no leadership, if the upper management doesnt take accountability for the lack of service and it was clear. He barely spoke, not sure if there was a language barrier but regardless at the end of the day if guest arent happy with the service it is your duty to make sure it gets addressed and resolved immediately. The "owner" didnt apologize, nor offer to do anything regarding us paying full price the service we were given, 70% of customers wont complain and just pay the bill but in this case i told the owner that it was not acceptable and offered to "takecare of the bills" mind you we didnt ask for free but for something to be done. When we got the bills my wife and I was astounded that he took off only $5.77 off our bill considering my wife and I waited 20 mins after our friends husband food first came. Our friends bill nothing was taken care of and i got upset and waited by the kitchen he seen me standing there and i requested for something further to be done as the three of us sat there with no food while our friends husband ate his. The food was ok, they can definitely change the oil as the wings or boneless wings were a bit on the dark side cause the meat was moist but the color was dark and you can taste it. I worked in this field in management and instead of the owner hiding in the back he should be helping his staff and address any issues without guest feeling like they are being avoided.

The washrooms are absolutely disgusting there should be no reason for this establishment to be run like this. There should be at least a floater that helps bus tables, cleans sections and keep the washroom tidy to ensure guest have a pleasent experince. This place needs real...

St.Louis Bar & Grill is a hidden gem within the area Pickering that offers and promises an unforgettable/extraordinary dining experience for all people! From the very moment you enter, you are greeted with a warmth from the attentive and friendly staff which embraces a welcoming environment throughout the restaurant. My family and I were very pleased and filled with excitement as the server sat us down to our table. The table was shining and spotlessly clean ensuring that we will not have to worry about anything during our time. The menu St. Louis Bar & Grill presents is absolutely brilliant and astonishing including items for everyone such as vegan free options, vegetarian options, and so much more! We ordered their famous Chicken Wings & Fries which had so many sauces we were able to choose from, the classic Wing Poutine, and Fish & Chips.We got our water and drinks we requested shortly after we were seated, and our food came out hot and fresh earlier than we had expected! Once I took the first bite of the Wing Poutine, my taste buds were delighted, and my palate was treated to a variety of different flavours and textures in the poutine. The Wings & Fries were absolutely delicious, which left us craving for more from the amazing flavour! Also, the Fish & Chips were crispy on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside bursting with flavour! Not to mention that the prices of all items are affordable for everyone! We took a moment to admire the decor and listened to all of the laughter and chatter in the place. When we finished our meals, my family and I were eager and craving for some of their Sweet Jesus Cheesecakes, Sliders, and Pints, which were available in the flavours Birthday Cake, Red Rapture, and Bangin' Brownie! The cheesecake was soft and creamy, which melted my mouth exploding with flavours of red velvet, which is the Red Rapture Cheesecake we had ordered. We also got a Birthday Cake Slider, which had a moist vanilla cake, smooth ice cream, and topped off with icing and rainbow sprinkles. All of these desserts were amazing and were definitely worth the affordable price. As we paid the bill and exited the building, my heart was full of joy as we just had an incredible experience of our lives as a family. This place deserves 5 stars without a doubt, and we can't wait to...

Update: We visited about a year ago. Visited again on November 6, 2022. We thought we would give it another shot. Equally as disappointed. We waited 15 minutes to be greeted, but then not seated for another 10, another 45 minutes for drinks and almost an hour for food. We were a party of 5. The restaurant was fairly busy, but not full by any means. Very slow service and way understaffed. We had to get up and ask if our orders were even in yet because no one at our table had drinks or food after being seated for 45 minutes. One person from our party had leave for another appointment because it took so long. Other people came in after us and were given drinks right away. They seemed like regular customers since they were acknowledged immediately by the staff. At the end of our meal, our bills came out all wrong. I can't believe that since our last visit not much has improved. I don't know if this only happens to us every time we come, but this was so disappointing. I'm not one to write negative reviews, but customer service did not seem to be priority here. Please train the staff to be attentive to customers. I have worked in customer service for years and the service here was terrible. The only positive was that the food was good when it finally arrived.

Original post one year ago: We've always like coming here for wings and beer as our local spot. However, we were so disappointed the other night about what we experienced during a pandemic. Every table on a Friday night was occupied in the restaurant. The line up for skip the dishes and other people picking up food was right by our table near the bar. A line up of people were standing right next to us talking and there was no distancing at all. We were seated, but our food took so long because the restaurant was packed, and we ended up having to ask to get take out containers to take it home with us by the time it arrived. We also got the wrong order for our appetizer but just ate it because it took so long to come and we were starving. The waitresses were friendly and trying their best but I was shocked that management would allow overcrowding in an establishment during a pandemic.
