It was late afternoon and my wife and I were looking for a new restaurant to try locally. Let's support our small local businesses! I did a little bit of research and came across this restaurant on Google. We were very hungry so we ordered four dishes. 1. Pepper shrimp chow mein 2. Curry goat with roti 3. Alex chicken with steam rice 4. Spicy garlic calamari The restaurant was not busy just a bunch of older guys drinking at the bar. They have a mix and match 5 bottle beer bucket for $19.99. This includes Heineken, Corona, Coors light, Budweiser, Molson Canadian. We noticed their special was $5.99 calamari with choice of spicy garlic, black bean or hot spicy sauce. Great deal!!! The food came out altogether which was nice. Food was hot and spicy. Good thing we had a pitcher of water to wash all it down! The pepper shrimp chow mein had lots of crispy shrimps on top of chow mein noodles (Hakka style noodles). The shrimps were spicy but not over the top. I would have liked more noodles underneath. It seems like the portion is smaller compared to other chowmein dishes. Curry goat had lots of meaty pieces of goat which fall off the bone. The spice level was milder. The roti had plenty of lentils and was great for dipping in the curry. Wife enjoyed it Alex chicken was a chef's specialty named after the owner. There were long pieces of chicken thigh meat coated with a spicy sauce and mixed with onions, green and red chilies. This is similar to dry chili chicken but with a unique taste. Last dish we had was spicy garlic calamari. This was a big surprise as the dish was full of cripsy pieces of calamari stir fried with spicy garlic sauce. This house special at $5.99 was amazing and we will definitely order it again. We will probably come back and try some other items on the menu like their sizzling plates and chef specialty. Update review... I came here for takeout. The restaurant was almost full of patrons. You can smell the aroma from the kitchen. I ordered the dinner special for one now costs $11.95 with a free pop. The box was loaded to the top with Alex chicken and egg fried rice. Taste on point as usual. We also got the goat curry with lots of meat and less bones. The curry sauce had the right amount of spice and was great for dipping my roti. Excellent food and glad their business has picked up more. They still have the $6.99 calamari special. I will grab that next time. Update Nov 2023. For the most recent visit, we came here for lunch. We ordered the lobsters 2 for $34.95 cooked in ginger and green onion, sizzling beef short ribs $17.25 in black pepper sauce, beef lo mein $13.50, and spicy garlic calamari $7.25. The total bill came up to $82.43 The food was definitely worth it. The lobster came out hot and fresh. The beef short ribs were served on a sizzling plate. The beef lo mein was really good but a little bit greasy. The same server is working both the takeout and dine in customers. She's really nice and checks up on us regularly. There's a few large big screen tvs showing live sports at the time. So if you're looking to enjoy NFL sunday then the owner will change the channel to the live game for you. The dining area is clean and spacious. We really enjoyed the food and recommend you come and try the lobster and beef short ribs while dining in. Thank you again Caribbean for a delicious weekend meal.

It's been a few years, since before the start of the COVID pandemic, that I've been to Caribbean Heat. They serve delicious Caribbean and Caribbean style Chinese food. I used to love their weekday lunch buffet that offered a variety of foods at a great price. It seems, however, that COVID has put an end to the buffet. They do, however, have some great weekday lunch deals that include a drink. On this visit, I had the Alex Chicken with Fried Rice, apparently named after the chef. It was a very generous serving of deliciousness, easily enough for two people. The boneless chicken was stir-fried with onions and hot peppers, and served over vegetable fried rice. This was only $10.99, including a drink. So good! Although I really like their food, not everything is perfect. I find this place too loud. Usually it's music but this time, the TVs were all cranked up playing the World Cup soccer games. The hard wall surfaces didn't help, resulting in lots of echo. Diners almost had to be shouting in order to be heard and this just contributed to the overall noise level. If you're in Pickering, check them out at Brock and Bayly. ------------------------------------ Previous Review (2000) This place usually has a very good weekday lunch buffet but that's on hold indefinitely, due to COVID. Their Guyanese Chinese style food is very tasty and affordable. On this occasion, we had curry beef with roti, and chicken served over fried rice. Both dishes were very tasty and plentiful. I took home the leftovers for dinner. I've had other items off the menu in the past and have never been disappointed with the taste or value.

We we there on Oct 15th to celebrate our family members wedding anniversaries. They set up their party room for us to dine privately. The service was amazing considering how busy the restaurant was. We were taken care of very well. Now the food, all my family members were over the moon with how great the food was. Their honey spiced short ribs are amazing. We had the spicy Calamari, peppered shrimp, fried banga Mary, egg fried rice, shrimp curry, Shanghai noodles, honey spiced short ribs, the lobster plate and the kids had the fries and chicken wings. Not one dish disappointed. This is truly Durham Region West Indian Restaurant Gem. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our anniversary party a great success. We went there for lunch today and had the spicy squid, peppered shrimp, chili chicken, fried rice with chicken on top, goat curry with rice. The portions are huge. Their chef rocks. Real guyanese food at its best. The restaurant is spotless and the service is excellent. No more trips to Scarborough now that we have discovered this little gem in Pickering right on Bayly and Brock street. The absolute best and most flavourible authentic west Indian food. You all have to try it.

5 Stars - An Amazing Experience Every Time!

As a proud regular at Carribean Heat, I cannot praise this place enough! Jimmy and his team consistently deliver outstanding service that makes every visit a memorable one. From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted with warm smiles, prompt attention, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family.

The food here is absolutely incredible. Whether it's the Caribbean Heat Salted Fish & Chicken Fried Rice or their calamari and pepper squid, the dishes are always cooked to perfection, packed with authentic Caribbean flavors, and have that signature heat that I crave! The seafood, in particular, stands out. The Spicy Garlic & Ginger Green Onion Lobster is hands-down one of my favorite dishes—succulent, fresh, and full of bold flavors.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail and the passion you can see from Jimmy and his staff. No matter how busy it gets, they make sure to check in, offer recommendations, and ensure everything is up to the highest standard. Jimmy truly cares about his customers, and it shows in every dish that comes out of the kitchen and in the friendly service his team provides.

I take pride in being a regular customer at this restaurant, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. If you're looking for top-notch Caribbean cuisine, impeccable service, and a great atmosphere, Carribean Heat is the place to be. Thank you, Jimmy, for consistently going...
