The Breadhouse Bakery — Restaurant in Pickering

Went to this bakery because it has such good reviews picked up a Buttertart with raisin it was a different take but the crust was over done. Then I noticed that several of their products were wrapped in saran wrap which to me is always a warning that they’re not very fresh and they don’t have a lot of turnover.

But they’re carrot cake with cream cheese icing was OK.

Plus I asked for a napkin and he handed me a rough old piece of paper towel exactly quality.

So the products were disappointing but worse than that was the guy who served me he acted like he hated his job I would suggest to the owner manager that this person needs some training he didn’t greet me he acted like he didn’t want to speak to me I was the only customer and he wasn’t interested in serving me it was certainly such a negative experience that I...

I feel like this place is a hidden gem for fresh bread. I love the raisin egg bread especially when it's still warm. I could finish off half a loaf in a single day. Their whole wheat and multigrain breads are really good as well. The texture is on the airy side and not dense like the big brands in grocery stores. The dinner rolls are nice and soft. Overall, their breads taste better than the mass produced ones.

The sweets are very good as well. My kids love their gingerbread cookies. The chocolate chip cookies are soft and chewy. Fantastic. The empire cookies are also delicious. We did order a kid's birthday cake once but it was nothing special.

I ordered this cake for my friends wedding. She wanted strawberry shortcake 🍰 and I love this bakeries strawberry shortcake. I've been buying their strawberry shortcake for years. For christenings, birthdays and showers. This cake turned out better than I could ever imagine. The bride and groom absolutely loved it. All the guest said it tasted delicious!!! I had to travel with the cake an hour and a half plus picked it up the day before the wedding. They were so helpful in helping me make sure it was delivered perfectly.
