Cravings turn into a disappointment..me and the family of my friend where looking for a japanese food nearby since it was our long weekend vacation here in waterton, luckily we found one, SOO SUSHI RESTAURANT AND KITCHEN, It was a fine izakaya ambiance so we decided to get in. being new in a place makes me more excited to discover the different versions of a culture dishes since i am also a authentic japanese cuisine chef, the menu was just fine and we order miso soup, tempura moriawase, gyoza, fried maki roll, pork katsu, bibimbap ang stir fry beef noodles, problem starts when the waiter deliver my miso soup, it was not hot enough, miso paste is not dissolve properly and there's only 5 thin slices of ban negi in it, it does'nt even have a tofu and wakame for 2cad cost. We also waited for almost an hour to deliver our food but not even executed the way it should be, one is eating and rest are not...it would be acceptable if the crew where properly trained and motivated enough on their duties and responsibilities, i was also raised and trained by japanese people and sad to say we left the restaurant full of disappointments and hungry, we ended up eating a burger to...
Read moreI had lunch at Soo Sushi and definitely recommend anyone who is a fan of Japanese food to check it out.
The building and the decor is decent and definitely above average for a small-town restaurant. While it is far from a jaw-dropping experience, it ain’t half bad.
The food was also above average. While the lunch menu is very limited compared to the supper menu, the selection of bento boxes should give most people enough of a variety to be pleased. I had: • The crazy roll – which was pretty average • The gyoza – also average • The crab ball – above average • The Sunomono – also above average • And an extra side of Koroke – which was amazing!
The service was just adequate. The servers were civil, but not a lot more. There is a noticeable difference between someone who takes pride in their work and someone who is just doing their job. This was probably the weakest part of the experience, and probably the easiest to improve.
Overall I would say that Soo Sushi would compare favorably to most Japanese restaurants in the city. Considering that it’s in a small town, I would say they are doing a...
Read moreEdit to add; We went again on September 7th for my kiddos birthday and this time we got the soy lemon chicken and beef Ramen dish (aswell as the spring rolls and chicken sushi rolls again) Both were incredibly delicious. They're so friendly there. Just love going there and the food is amazing.
My kiddo & I visited for the first time and we had a very enjoyable first visit. The sushi was amazing and definitely fulfilled our sushi craving.
My daughter and I had the spring roll appetizers which were delicious, aswell as we had the meat combo - again delicious, so delicious we ordered another combo to go!
Our total came to about $79, but a portion of that was tips (=
Our waiter was very polite, even asked if we preferred forks or chopsticks (I was so embarrassed, I WISH I knew how to use chopsticks), and he was so ok with bringing us forks!
The restaurant is so calming and relaxing, I can't wait to go back honestly. Definitely fulfilled our...
