I am a C-Lovers fan...you canât beat it. Period. So when I moved to Pitt Meadows with no C-Lovers close by...I was devastated. It took me a loooonnnnng time to work up the courage to try this place...which I think is the only fish place in this tiny âdonât blinkâ burrough. Anyways...Iâve been back many times since. I donât do cod, but the halibut is always delicious, I like the fries well enough and the prices are good too. The cole slaw is awful though, sorry guys...but itâs clearly not made with any sort of interest in making a âgoodâ cole slaw...itâs like you threw old mayo in a bowl with some random seasonings and hoped for the best. Seriously...find a real recipe, there are literally hundreds out there that actually taste like cole slaw is supposed to.
But I digress...the halibut is good, the cooks are fast and the waitresses are always busting their butts. They are great girls who always seem to go the extra mile, even for my kid, which is something I take notice of.
Oh...on that note...one thing that irritates me is that they only ever have one waitress on, so when itâs busy, as it tends to be at dinner time, the lone waitress really has her hands full (at least they have multiple cooks!) and nobody ever seems to help her.
Anyways I made this review because I wanted to defend the place because of other negative reviews that I thought were unnecessarily harsh.
Bottom line: Itâs really pretty good battered fish here. Always busy at dinner time and that alone should tell you something. Crappy restaurants arenât EVER busy. Think about it. Also, those of you complaining about grease, get a grip. First off - itâs NOT greasy like youâre making it out to be. Itâs actually pretty NOT greasy. And anyways, itâs freakinâ deep fried in oil, and you knew that before you crossed the threshold. Give us all a break.
Owners: please get a decent cole slaw recipe - what you're serving now isnât cole slaw in any...
Read moreWow!!! Hidden Gem đ Alert! Blown away at how good this place is in every way! First of all, they serve ayce fish and chips! The pollock option is $18.99 and the wild cod option is $22.99 which is quite an unbeatable deal. We tried the wild cod ayce fish and chips and it was absolutely fantastic! The wild cod filets were huge, thick, and juicy with a thin, crispy, fried to perfection golden batter! The chips were also done perfectly. The food quality was high. Everything was made fresh to order! This was seriously some of the best fish and chips we have ever had, like even better than the ones you get in London, UK. The taste was pure deliciousness and their tartar sauce has a hint of dill which was super nice. The service was quite outstanding and they were quick to refill our sodas and kept asking us if we wanted more fish and chips refills. You truly get to eat as much as you want here! The vibes are very down to earth, the staff are hardworking, and itâs a very welcoming, family oriented ambiance where everyone just relaxes and eats. Highly recommend coming here for a la carte or ayce fish and chips depending on how much you...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at âAustin Fish & Chipsâ and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and friendly service. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, perfect for a relaxing meal. But the highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the fish and chips. They were, hands down, the best I have ever tasted! The fish was incredibly fresh, perfectly crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. The chips were golden and seasoned to perfection. What made the visit even more memorable was the outstanding customer service. Cindy, the owner, was particularly helpful and courteous. She went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of. Her genuine care for her customers truly sets this place apart. If you're in the mood for some top-notch fish and chips served with a side of excellent service, this is the place to go....
