Very disappointed with my last visit. Have been a regular customer for many, many years.Always ordered the exact same thing- a large FAT smoke meat sandwich ( not many places know how to do it like that ) , a large family size fries , and a lean smoked meat sandwich. All for take out. Returned home to discover that they had given me a LEAN. sandwich. I drove back assuming that perhaps they mistakenly switched my order with another. When I explained to them that it’s a lean and not a FAT as I ordered , the chef behind the counter yelled at me saying “ THATS HOW IT IS !!! THE MEAT IS THE MEAT !!!! I ALWAYS MAKE IT LIKE THAT!!!! I explained to him that he always makes it the way I asked, and that this is not what I ordered. He shrugged his shoulders and ignored me. I left them the sandwich, returned home , and my wife couldn’t even take a second bite of her lean sandwich. I took the rest of the food and went back to ask for a refund. They didn’t even try to offer something else or to resolve the situation. They didn’t even refund the full amount! Only for the fries , because as he said “ you ate the sandwiches “ ( aside from a couple of bites we did not ) . I have never been treated like that in ANY restaurant in my life! Very quaint & cozy. I came for lunch mid-afternoon. I was the only client. Only one person on staff washing dishes & it took quite a few minutes before she asked if I was ready to order. In fact someone came in for take out after I had ordered and received his order before I got mine. I had only ordered a smoked meat sandwich & fries. Twice I told her no mustard & of course it came with it! She brought the bottle of pop unopened & with no glass. She seemed annoyed when I asked her to open it & to bring me a glass. Her shift was done & I watched her get into her car in a prime parking spot in front of the door while I had to park on the street about 5 cars away. When a new employee arrived, she parked in the spot. Not much thought for their own customers.

Food was ok. Fries were not cooked enough. Once served, the owner sat in a booth across from me & started watching Netflix on a big screen which was right above my booth. I felt uncomfortable having him watching TV, as if he was in his living room, while I was eating so I moved to another booth. Can't say I...

Sadly I have to make a negative review It is the 3 rd time we’ve eaten there in 2 years. Staff is nice and friendly, place is rundown but it’s part of its charm.

Let’s talk about the smoked meat ( which is supposed to be their specialty.) My husband and I ordered each a medium smoked meat special. The meat was sliced uneven, with some meat, sliced thin, and some so thick my teeth could not chew on it. It was like a big piece of rubber. Also, I understand that there is some fat when you order it medium, but this was mostly fat and every time I took a bite, I had to spit out the meat. So for the second half I actually opened the sandwich and picked at it. I did not report it I did not complain about it, but it’s enough that I would never go back there and order a smoke meat. In the past it was just OK but now this is like, whoever made the sandwich put everything in it, including the part that I would personally throw in the garbage, not serve that to anyone.
