Katoreya Sushi Restaurant — Restaurant in Pointe-Claire

I was there to celebrate a birthday party with a group of 20 people. Very fresh fish. Their sunset and sunrise rolls are absolutely delicious. I would say however that the way they prepare the sushi rice is under-par. They pack the rice too tight and as a result, the roll becomes a bit dense and chewy. Some friends ordered specialty rolls and although the presentation is very nice, the rice to filling ratio is too high...Service was also a bit spotty. People did not get their food at the same time. We were split in 2 tables of 10 but 1 of the tables waited around while the other nearly finished their appetizers. I would go back if I happened to be in Pointe Claire but would not make a special trip just...

What can i say, this restaurant failed on so many levels... Ambience...was ZERO. Flies on the walls, scratched walls, and bizarre decoration for a sushi place. Service... was lacking to say the least although they were smilling. They mixed up our plates, kept us waiting for more than an hour for the first plates to come, and the waiter insisted he brought all plates when he actually didnt! Prices.... were on par with other sushi places around west island (for the special sushi orders that is). Food...was on and off. One good plate was Venus. The rest of the plates were bland and nothing to rave about to be honest. So disappointed after all these...

-IKA CHUKA marinated seaweed salad with squid and octopus topped with sweet and sour dressing (delicious….)

-ALL SORTS OF NIGIRIS (fish on top of rice) salmon, tuna, sweet shrimp, octopus, squid, grilled eel) *gotta try the Eel especially!

-some different specialty sushi rolls

My husband and I were taking our sweet time to eat every little pieces. Very happy with our waiter, and service.
