Called to ask if we can reserve for 3 and was told rsvp was not needed. So we presented ourselves at 6pm and the restaurant was packed. This was our first time and no staff greeted us or acknowledged the people in line. They simply cleared a table at a time and placed whoever was in line.
We were waiting in line to be called to get a table but due to the social distancing and lack of space at the door, a group of 4 impatient people decided to cut the line, passing us and another couple behind and sat at chairs in front of us in the waiting area. We thought they just wanted to sit and let them be and assumed the staff must have seen us since we were waiting for quite some time.
After maybe 40-45 mins of wait, the staff came and asked softly at the group who cut the line if they were next. Shamelessly, the man from the group said yes and him and his groups followed the staff to their table in a nice booth. As the staff passed by right after, we obviously were frustrated because he just gave our table away and confronted hin. The first thing he did was cover his face and give us an explanation. He offered us another table but the couple who waited behind us deserve a table also and would have waited.
He didn't chose to go to the group he just gave a table to and ask them to kindly wait back in line. They haven't even ordered yet. He instead wasted more time by giving us explanations. We already waited so long and didn't deserve to wait more. After minutes wasted on arguing with us, when we asked to call the manager, he said he was the owner. Told him being an owner this is very poor customer service and we haven't even been seated yet. He finally made arrangements to prepare a table of 4 but placed right at the entrance and asked us to sit there. We obviously refused and told him to give us the booth we should have got and to make sure the couple after us was seated too before. He went to the group seated and asked them to finally take the newly setup table and gave us the booth while seating the couple at a table as well.
Our food took 1 hour to come to our table! Another wait game...
We had told the owner that to better manage your business, RSVP's should be taken on weekends. People won't wait too long and the staff won't feel the pressure of the crowd, especially during this low staffing time. Also, we have mentioned that one of the girls who cleans the table after customer leaves should have a notepad and write the name of the people waiting in line with the number of people they are with. This will ensure that their personal is organized in treating the customers fairly.
I know this was a big rant but if customer service and satisfaction is not your priority then maybe running a business is not meant for you. Have to be quick at making decisions and getting things resolved.
Regardless of this, the food portions and price was great. For the inconvenience caused, the owner did reduce our bill. Thoughtful gesture but all this could have been resolved with less time wasted on constant talking back and forth. I might possibly give this place another try and hopefully that will...
Read moreI was so excited to have a night out with my friends post pandemic. We wanted to check out a new spot and try a delicious new concept. To say that we were let down was an understatement.
We were a group of 4 if that matters. One guest ordered her own meal and 3 of us wanted to share some of the delicious plates they had to offer. We ordered from the counter as a group.
The first meal came out and was served within about 10 minutes. The rest of us had to wait about 30 minutes more to be served. As you can imagine, a boil is really good fresh and hot. Sitting around for a half hour is less than optimal. It really put a damper on our night out. When the food was served, our sides were wrong and so was our sauce of choice.
This restaurant's concept is to eat on the table with bibs, gloves and to have a communal meal. There was nothing communal about our dinner. We had to ask for gloves, bibs and any extras. They were not prepared. The food itself wasn't too bad but I find it hard to believe that a half empty restaurant had difficulty serving the 13 people dinning there. They seemed more focused on their Doordash and Ubereats than the clientele dining in. We got our final plate well into our meal. It was Dymamite shrimp which was by far the star of the soiree however when we dumped it out onto our plate, we noticed that half of the 17$ order was cabbage. It's hard to justify paying 17$ for 11 shrimp. We were duped.
To be honest, it was amateur hour there. I rarely go out to eat and consider it a treat to dine out. They didn't seem to care or notice that they way they served us was subpar.
They checked up on us 45 minutes later and by then, the damage was done. Do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant all together. The services and experience does not justify the just "ok" food.
This may sound harsh but it was our experience. Spend your hard earned money somewhere that understands customer experience and values your business. I would never eat there again out...
Read moreGreat service, staff was very nice, so it pains me to write this, also it smelled amazing in the restaurant. My first issue was the food was outrageously expensive. $165 for two people to eat. Unless you’re somewhere very high end, that price doesn’t really feel justified to me. That gets you two small meals and a tiny appetizer. The appetizer (dynamite shrimp) was amazing. I got the crab meal, which included crab, corn and rice, and the crab was very dry and overcooked. I’m too shy to say anything in person but I thought it was worth noting in a review. My boyfriend got the lobster meal which included one lobster tail, a few clams and a few shrimps, he said his was amazing. Overall, I’d Also say it didn’t really taste like the food was boiled in the sauce. It tasted like they made the food and then poured the sauce on top after, that was something me and my boyfriend both agreed on with both our meals. It would’ve been 100% better if it was all boiled in the sauce since we had to order extra sauce to dip everything in since it wasn’t infused. Portions are also small, my boyfriend left hungry. I’m someone who loves seafood and I’ve been really excited to try this place but I think once was enough and I don’t think I’ll be returning, or recommending to friends. You can get a nice seafood meal for this price somewhere else where the food is cooked properly. Cool experience though. Worth...
